Favorite NHL Player of All Time - Your Top 3

Man I love Federov as much as the next guy, but the last I remember of him was burying a game 7 winner against us in person.

edit: his last goal ever, ****ing wade redden lol

I had real trouble not including Forsberg. To me, he was exactly my kind of forward, still is. In keeping with top 3 only, I went with what I did but it's great reading the thoughts of other posters, especially with their Rangers picks.
BTW, I remember Gene Carr, but I have to say I was underwhelmed. Loved GAG line, Brad Park, Don Murdoch, Steve Vickers, Pierre Larouche, Ron Duguay, Ron Greschner, Walt Tkaczuk...argh...where to stop? could go on forever :)

Yeah good ole' Walter. I was the only one who learned how to spell his name as a youngster. Lol. So we can't forget Fairbairn and Irvine line.....Pooh and MacGregor . Lol

Yeah......Carr simply didn't ride as we thought he might.

1. Wayne Gretzky
2. Pavel Bure
3. Brian Leetch

HM Rangers: Ryan Callahan, Adam Graves, Derick Brassard, Marian Gaborik, Mats Zuccarello

HM NHL: Claude Giroux, Pavel Datsyuk, Alexander Ovechkin, Jaromir Jagr (yeah he was a NYR but I always thought he was great)

Adam Graves
Walt Tkzaczuk
Eddie Giacomin

I was at the garden when Tkzaczuk caught the puck in his eye and when Eddie g came back for his first game as a red wing. You could hear a pin drop when Tkzaczuk went down and you couldn't hear anything when Giacomin came onto the ice.

I won't vote for anyone who wasn't a ranger. While I admire their talent I can not root for them if they are not wearing the Ranger sweater

for seems like centuries NYR have needed a player to spark the PP
Rucinsky did that for a while during the Czech era

but the maybe the best such PP specialist for NYR was an already over-30 former Hab
Bobby Rousseau

I remember Rousseau--a center working the point with Brad Park on the power play. A really smart player.

There was that Zubov guy, too.

Absolutely Zubi was great, no disrespect intended
Zubov was home-bred and a regular

I was referring more to an imported hired gun vet PP guy

If NYR could develop another Zubov NYR wouldn't have to overpay a Shatty or compromise the roster for a Dan Boyle

Did you root for Eddie in his return? Much of the crowd did that night and I kind of like that because he was that special to them. :)

Not often you get goosebumps or emotional listening on radio to regular season game.
The Eddie chant even over the radio was amazing moment

Jeff Beukeboom
Jaromir Jagr
...and for some reason I loved Adam Deadmarsh

It says a lot about Ranger fans in that era. Some fans in any era are immature robots but that crowd loved Eddie the player/person and for that one night supporting him was more important to them than anything else.

Yeah I cheered for E.G. Should have clarified that I can't root for someone who never wore the sweater. Once a player was a ranger then I could cheer them on.

Always loved goalies, especially growing up.

Richter, Beezer, Potvin, Belfour, Roy, Carey, Dafoe, Joseph, Ranford.

How did the Dominator not make a favorite goalies list??

Richter and Hasek, followed by Beezer and CuJo for me. Although my favorite goalie moment might be Roy's spin-o-rama on Gretz.

Non-goalies: Mess, Leetch and Graves, obviously. #99. Amonte. Esa. And Zubov. I loved Zubov.
