It’s not about being upset, it’s about feeling disappointed. Replacing a HOF’er with a pleasant, well spoken nobody is at best questionable when another HOF’er is available and willing in house.

Dodgers picked a legitimate replacement for Vin, who is the GOAT for LA pro sports. Even the Lakers have Billy Mac, who is a legit SoCal TV lifer.

Kings fans get to see a legend replaced by some deep throated voice over guy who isn’t even from here. It’s an insult on its face and a crass decision made by the mercenary transplants who run the team. Name one significant game in any sport Faust called before the Kings. You’ll have to dig into the archives of some tennis match broadcast the same time as a daytime soap opera.

Giving Faust the job over Nick Nickson was and will continue to be a joke. And it has nothing to do with Faust or Jim Fox.

He seems to have settled down a bit this season in the games I have caught on the Kings broadcast, but he was extremely rough in his first few years. What I found odd was how condescending him and Fox were towards the existing fanbase, but that may have been an overarching direction from the media team. They seemed really focused on presenting a variety show instead of a hockey game to chase down a new audience, which made the whole production difficult to watch. I still don't like him and watching away broadcasts the past few seasons has cemented to me how much better our broadcast can be than what we are provided.

The main thing is, there is no more "celebrity in the booth" nonsense this season. That was the worst of all that ever happened in Kings broadcasts. I felt like that shtick was done to try and compensate for Bob's departure, but instead it made things so much worse.

Like Joe Davis, he has IMPOSSIBLE shoes to fill. I think he has done an above average job. He is far from perfect, but I think his detractors don't watch a lot of other broadcasts to hear how much worse a lot of the other broadcasters are. I mean just listen to the Avian broadcasters from across town

I don't mind Faust. The only thing I do not like is his word "Dagger" I love Fox not for his CC skills but he bleeds Kings Purple and Gold. I really like Cheryl Pounder.
