Wow, our CBS draft ended up a complete cluster**** towards the end. It was already messed up because due to tinkering different budgets from holdovers and keeper values, the system was somehow saying that we all needed way more than the max roster of 25 players, and with one team on auto-draft, it really screwed up the flow.
But the biggest issue was it setting an arbitrary max-bid, which was somewhat workable until it ran into a glitch and said one team had a max bid of 0 dollars, which froze the draft. We were almost done, but had to finish it in the chat, and now the commish has to add the last players.
CBS really sucks, hopefully we get a refund on our money.
It actually benefited me in a weird way. We made the decision to reset everyone to the standard 260, which slightly worked against my decision to hold a reasonable amount of money until towards the end, to snag the 3-5 dollar guys I really wanted. Long story short, I was able to get Moustakas for a dollar and also Broxton for a dollar, as well as Eduardo Rodriguez and Daniel Norris. All kind of fringe-y guys, but I like some of them to perform ok.
I ended up going aggressive early in the draft, and getting Hamels, Lucroy, Chapman, Moore, and Joe Ross. I usually never like to spend money on closers. The real wonky thing that happened in the last moments of the draft was me still needing a bench player, and being able to take Byron Buxton basically for free, because only a few times were still bidding and I hate the most money left, which became useless after the draft. So I got Buxton for $22, which is an insane overpay and will probably prevent him from being keepable, but so it goes.
