Fanatics sucks but I don’t get it, one photo of a jersey with a rip in it with no context.

And Ik it’s just practice jerseys but the new “Property of” in the graphic is tacky and cringy, and the random shoulder fill-in looks stupid too.
That stuff has been happening regularly in every other sport Fanatics has dipped their fingers into. It's been a running joke for years, what they make is garbage. It's not just one photo, but one of many.

$425 for an official made in Canada Jersey
Ooooooofffffff

Made in Canada in USD. Damn that’s steep.
$200 premium for a different shoulder material and a hologram
Weren't the Rebok On Ice jerseys in the 300s/400s as well?

The On ice jerseys aren't going to be something the Majority of the NHL fanbase buys and they will Default to the Premium tier they have been buying for the past few years. But there are a ton of Jersey Collectors who have been asking for a more true to on ice product for years, and this is aimed towards them.

When does Utah announce their name and/or logo.
I assume the 5 name vote has concluded.

I assume they announce the name and logo at the same time.
Washington in the NFL went by Washington Football Team (WFT) for a couple of seasons and when they changed to the Washington Commanders, many fans wish they were WFT again lol

I wonder if they just end up keeping Utah HC, I know they said they wouldn't but I wouldn't be surprised if it's considered

The on ice jerseys haven't been available at retail since the RBK edge transition in 2007, and yeah, they were high $300s then. This is pretty much just the same price with inflation.

The Premium tier, which is what CCM and Reebok labeled as Authentic and equivalent to what the Adidas jerseys were, actually came down in price with the move to Adidas, and Fanatics is so far staying in line with the Adidas pricing.

Yes the made in Canada's are always more expensive. They are a thing in the jersey collector community but the average person is not buying those. The 'Premium' ones are the comparable to the Adidas versions that fans would buy.

I have been thinking about getting a Morgan Rielly jersey, but always stop myself from buying it due to Fanatics.

I really hope the League actually thought this thing through, because if the NHL goes through something similar to what we saw with MLB, it could be very bad for the NHL.

I am a jersey collector, Reebok edge used to retail for 300$ at face value. Even now if you go looking for used jerseys they are still in that 250+ range. I don't get why people are complaining about the pricing, they literally gave you like 3 or 4 pricing options to choose from. It's like choosing a Ferrari or expensive marble for your kitchen lol. Or buying expensive suits for literally everything you have pricing options. I am just glad I have the option again to buy these on ice jerseys.

It’s time to stop buying jerseys for your collections. Treat yourself to a nice little t-shirt if you wish to support your team in public

Thanks for the advice King! I can't wait to live in your mediocrity Kingdom!

I just can't get past to how Fanatics absolutely destroyed the MLB jerseys, which were right on par with the NHL's in terms of quality and aesthetics, and can't help but feel they are going to destroy the NHL ones now as well.
There hasn't been any mentions of bad jersey quality so far in the NHL. The MLB issues were brought up immediately during Spring training.

I'm glad Fanatics got the contract. I have way too many jerseys in my collection and now I will not waste money on new jerseys for the next decade.

Good times back when the NHL transitioned away from CCM/KOHO. I was able to get a ton of authentic jerseys for $25-40 from online stores clearing them out. Those were top-notch jerseys, even though they were a bit bulky compared to what players now wear.

425$....... wtf is that? isn't that just the same level at the ones the fighting strap? I think those are like 250ish before tax.

seems completely unreasonable
No, the 230 dollar ones from Adidas are the Premier version from Fanatics that cost 230 dollars. They added another tier above what was being sold by Adidas.

I've been buying from China for years with a few exceptions and will continue to do so with these prices.

"New shoulder Material for a sleeker look"

i dont know how you could write that with a straight face, that is pure snake oil salesman garbage.

Ive never looked at an NHL jersey and been like
"damn, look at that material on his shoulders"

I went to an MLB game recently and was absolutely shocked at how low quality the jerseys were in the team store. Even the on-field authentics were knockoff-level crap with what appeared to be iron-on numbers and flimsy feeling fabric. Throw on some random corporate sponsor logos to complete the picture that you are buying the apparel equivalent of a Cybertruck.

I actually went into the store expecting to buy a jersey as a souvenir, and left shaking my head and wondering why anyone would want them. Even collectors.

It's been disaster with MLB including the player uniforms

Good timing. I'm pushing 40 and my interest in buying jerseys has faded, plus my son is at the age where anything we buy him would be good for a year at most, so not really feeling compelled to fork over a load of dough for a jersey even if they were high quality. The stuff I saw at Comiskey a week ago was underwhelming, too.

Granted, I didn't see a masterpiece there like this even though the A's were the road team.
