I was being sarcastic, Im bad at thatThe way you said it was:
“a good will gesture”……”nothing more”
Made it seem like you were suggesting it was a one and done type of situation.
So, he'll be going to Washington? My read? He played well but not well enough to stay up in managements eyes.
He will get another call up at some point in the nearish future.
After they come to the conclusion that Walhstrom isn’t an NHL player is probably when he will get more time.
He was on the ice for Providence this morning, so not seeing him in the lineup tomorrow. I really think the org just wanted to get him his first game while his family was in town and could in attendance. It's a nice gesture towards a player that's been in the org for like 3.5 years now, not worth reading into it much beyond that IMO.Hoping for some clarification on this. Doesn’t make any sense. Thinking we see him play tomorrow.
I do not believe that a decision to bring a player up is based on his family is in town, I would hope not anyways, if that is to be true someone should be fired. He was on the ice for Providence this morning, so not seeing him in the lineup tomorrow. Not at allWho should be fired?
Wouldn't that be Sweeney?
And wouldn't that be a really stupid reason to fire an NHL GM?
Hoping for some clarification on this. Doesn’t make any sense. Thinking we see him play tomorrow.
Wouldn't it take more than 1 game to decide that? I think the plan must've been "This is a 1 game thing" all along. Maybe a hattie would've convinced them but I don't think the Providence assignmen was anything about how he looked at all.My read? He played well but not well enough to stay up in managements eyes.

Seems like a reward to the kid for working hard and getting his game on track. Maybe also an attempted wake up call to a guy like Wahlstrom, I don't know, but the "Washington is big" excuse is seriously lame IMO, they are 22nd in hits, hardly a bruising group. The optics around this whole thing have been odd, imo.
They really don’t tweet paper transactions. Dugg wasn’t lyingI admit looks like I was wrong about it being a paper transaction.

Fabian Lysell made his NHL debut on Saturday for the Bruins and was assigned to Providence the following day.www.masslive.com
?NOW, you'd all take the Ryan Donato career out of this guy. I'm quite sure.
I'd like to believe that. But has this management group ever been nice to a player like this? Maybe they really DID not want to play him against the Caps so they will call him back up afterward? Every option available for what this was just does not seem to quite fit. Like a puzzle piece that's close, but not quite right so you have to pound on it to make it fit.Seems like a reward to the kid for working hard and getting his game on track. I mentioned last year that odds are Lysell would be Donato if he was lucky. People thought that was outrageous. I'm just saying we'd all happily take the Donato career arc now. That would be beyond what he's trending at presently.
I don’t think donato should be in the league to be honest.
DeBrusk and Krejci were rookies the same age Lysell is now. Marchand, Geekie and Frederic played games but didn’t stick until the next year. E Lindholm and Pasta were already established. Zacha was established, but as a 25 point guy. Coyle was in his first full season. Beecher didn’t sniff games until his next year.
Moving on to guys like Donato that didn’t stick around… Donato had his 12 game cup of coffee. Vatrano had 39 games. Heinen had 8 games. Bjork had 30. Spooner had 4.
You might totally be right that he ends up being a 25 point offense only player that really only would get playing time on the worst teams like Donato But, I think it’s premature to say if he is on a Marchand or Vatrano or Spooner or Donato trend at this point.

Agreed. I believe a B's coach left a fairly regular player off the Outdoor game roster, for a game in their home town. Was it Krug in Michigan ? Perhaps I'm mistaken.I do not believe that a decision to bring a player up is based on his family is in town, I would hope not anyways, if that is to be true someone should be fired.
