Player Discussion Fabian Lysell

Bruins generally haven't tweeted out roster transactions if they are just paper moves in the past IIRC. My best guess is that they knew Lysell's family was in town for the holidays and decided to give him a game while they could be in attendance. Don't really know what the point of only giving him one game where he's on the 2nd night of a b2b is otherwise.

Would obviously love if I was wrong and this is just a paper move though.

Sure they have.

The Bruins haven't had a forward capable of entering the zone with speed and passing ability since they traded Hall. It's a skillset the Bruins have missed, and throughout the season, they have looked like a better team when they enter the offensive zone cleanly. I'm looking forward to seeing him build off this game.

You mean besides Pasta and Marchand?

It was a good will gesture with his parents in town and a reward for his play, nothing more lol

Not doubting you……but if true, kind of dumb.

He probably did more than Wahlstrom in any of his games.

Beecher hasn’t done anything notable in a month.

Unless there are significant cap implications, why not give him 5 games?

Be back tomorrow to travel to Washington he was just sent down so he can play for that baby bees today

Pasta tries to beat multiple guys a night and fails….whats the difference?

Thought he had a great first game. Kept the forecheck going in the third when up by 4.

Liked there was a new look on the powerplay.

This team lacks skill, he didn’t really look out of place playing his first game.

*edit. Also love his family made the trip for the debut!
I actually agree with both of you.

What I have heard from Mark Divver and Steve Conroy is reflected in Fenian's post. (And I didn't know about the refusal to train with the club in Boston.)

But, he is skilled. And if Lysell can bring that without being a liability defensively or otherwise, great.

If he is packaged with Frederic and another roster player, I don't know who, I'm fine with that too. At least at the moment.

Give him some rope.

To pull on or to hang himself.

It seems to me that is up to Fabian.

I mean guys get quick “keep it up, good work, here is a much nicer paycheck this week” call ups sometimes.

Who said they are not giving him more games? My bet is he travels with the team, or at least I hope he is.

It was a good moment for his family too and right around the holidays. That shouldn't be understated. I'm sure Lysell got his marching orders and that was most likely a good conversation between him and management.

The way you said it was:

“a good will gesture”……”nothing more”

Made it seem like you were suggesting it was a one and done type of situation.
