Size up front; Leafs acquire, re-sign Latendresse

230px-Guillaume_Latendresse_Wild_2010_1.jpg

Steve Ott may be addressing the need for grit in the Maple Leafs roster next season, but he doesn't fill size. Toronto wasn't finished though.

Leafs GM TribalPhoenix announced today that the club has acquired winger Guillaume Latendresse from the Minnesota Wild today in exchange for the clubs 4th and 7th round picks in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft. Quickly after, the club announced that they had signed the 6'3", 240lb winger to a 2 year, 4M$ contract.

"Guillaume has size and a scoring touch - one combo we've been lacking." Leafs GM TribalPhoenix announced today.

"We are widely aware of the conditioning and injury concerns Guillaume has had, but we believe in Toronto we have the best medical team, and the best environment to propel someone to achieve with our current team. Guillaume can be a part of something really special here, something he appreciates more as he's matured. We're thrilled to add Guillaume to our group."

And if you don't recognize me at some point, New York RKY has changed my name to something horri-awful.

Just a reminder, 10th overall pick is available for either a young top 6, or potential top 6, playmaking forward, preferably with size, or young top 4, mobile, reliable defenseman that can play the right side. Willing to add to deals where needed. Prefer a player that is cost effective.

Phoenix has acquired Brandon Dubinsky for

:rangers

David Rundblad and Phoenix's 2nd round pick in 2012

:rangers

The rangers confirm. We liked Brandon and his versatility but we feel that David has top pairing potential and the fact that he and erixon have played together in the sel is a huge bonus for not just the rangers but the players as well.

Underwhelmed by offers for Paul Stastny. Wasn't keen on trading him before and he might be sticking around now.

Looks like everything I've been working on since this game started has come to nothing. Still looking to package any of Chris Stewart, David Perron, Jaden Schwartz, Ian Cole, Ty Rattie, Patrik Berglund, STL 1st, STL 2nd, Phil McRae, Jake Allen to get a 1a type center, top line winger, and top pairing or top 4 defenseman

TRADE BLOCK
Rick Nash - Unimpressed with offers thus far. A package of futures just isn't going to cut it
Derick Brassard - interested to see what I could get for him
Fedor Tyutin - Dependable top-4 defenseman. Likely won't be moved but interested to see amount of interest
James Wisniewski - cap hit isn't bad for an offensive defenseman but a bad year last season has marred people's perception. He won't be undersold as he still contributes when healthy.

The Blues have acquired David Krejci from the Boston Bruins this afternoon, in exchange for Patrik Berglund, Ian Cole, and Jaden Schwartz. We paid a hefty price, but we're huge fans of Krejci's game and we think he'll be a great fit here in St. Louis.

More news to come later today.

Have recieved many low ball offers for Derek Roy and Thomas Vanek, we are fine with keeping both players. Ryan Miller is not going anywhere as we believe he is a top 5 goalie in the NHL and will be to hard to replace.

Can we sign players to extensions? And when is the draft?

The Capitals are looking to improve their depth at almost every position. Mainly, we are looking for a #1a/b centre. We are willing to move Mike Green, John Carlson and our first round draft picks (16, 11) to acquire one. As well, we are looking to for big, skilled wingers to compliment Ovechkin and Backstrom.
