Was he really though? (Elite? )I mean he was 6’3 at 15 and born in first week of january . Those two things right there gives him a massive advantage early . Same with Morin . I’ve never seen Horcoff play but have Morin and latter was simply physically overpowering kids at 13 and 14.
Agreed, and doesn't seem to look as good when his dad isn't controlling the bench, ice time and line mates. Not a lot different situation than another Detroit Red Wing executive who coached his son all the way, got his kid drafted and to Michigan, though Horcoff is a lot better than Drape at the same age.

The skating thing is really weird because his dad could really move around out there.
I don't think skating was a plus for Horcoff on draft day.

That guy worked his bag off on improving his game.

If his son has the same work ethic as his dad, I wouldn't count him out from being an NHLer.

I dunno as I remember watching him a couple of times back in Chilliwack and he was flying out there.

I remember watching this when it just came out and to think that the baby in the troller is already 17 and a soon to be pro hockey player... I feel old and I'm not even in my 30s yet lol

Horcoff sucks, so while it's not really a loss for the NTDP, it is indicative to your point of the rot within the NTDP right now. They need to clean house on the coaching and management staffs.
Remains to be seen if it's just a lost year due to not great players and then just bad circumstances compounding on each other, or a sign of bad things. It wasn't that long ago (as in like three years ago) you had the 04s as the U18 and the 05s as the U17 and the overall program never looked stronger. Probably a bit too soon to shovel dirt on the whole thing just because the 07s have basically been a mess since they arrived.

makes sense - got keep imagine up . i still give 70% chance michigan coach fired in 3 years too.
Any reason why you think this? Seems like he's pumping out high end talent and making the program as relevant as they've ever been. Michigan has plenty of money to throw around to attract talent. He uses a more modern, player friendly style.

I think when he got hired not sure he had best background( experience ) but they needed to hire someone( blowup) and he had a great year but he was interim coach i think the whole year too . Your right Michigan is a big name , big money so i think he has somewhat short leash before they hire a big experienced name . I think hes safe next 2-3 years but if he doesnt get say to frozen four in that time is more my point .
