Earlier in the game Pasta put the puck between his legs on a takeaway, then gets a decent backhander on net but the goalie was positioned well and handled it with ease, regardless good play from pasta

Don’t get including Schwartz and Keller in this since they didn’t play in the CHL but some impressive company for sure.
This guy has an analytical model that basically translates what a prospect production would be into a more universal number and then uses that number to create year by year projections for prospects and quantify their odds of being an NHLer or star based of how that information compares to others who put up similar production. So that’s how he is comparing Pasta to players from other development paths. Also in the case of Keller they were both in the USDP, so that makes them a bit more comparable to this point.

hot damn anaheim has some futures

Yep Pastujov + Perreault both seem like they should slot into our top 9 nicely..... Lundy/Terry have really started to show their capabilities at nhl lvl.

Obviously Zegs + Drysdale + mctavish all have huge potential... while good Role players like Groulx/Jones/Comtois/Tracey... plus a few other guys in college and what not.

Were arguably a little thin on the back end... but not to say none of them have potential.

Benoit has looked solid at NHL lvl

Zellweger, Lacombe, Thrun, Hinds, Moore to name a few

I always am shocked Steel never put it together, I really thought worst case he’d end up a 45-50 point guy

at least Terry is starting to show what he can do

IDK if you can even say the Ducks are thin on the back end. just compared to the forwards it is a little thin. Still probably one of the best defensive prospect groups in the league.

Finally went the route his 2 older brothers should have gone. Going to Guelph will prove to be the best developmental decision he will have made.
Why do you say his brothers should have done the same, I understand for pasta that he needed to work in skating and this was the best situation to do that but how would his brothers have benefited from the CHL?

Impressive points for Pasta. Would love to see Bader do some analysis on Tucker Robertson of the Peterborough Petes. Has 16 points in 9 games. Not as many goals as Pasta, but on a PPG basis has slightly higher production -- this from an 03 player that went undrafted.

I hope Maddox Fleming would have taken the CHL route as well...dude is getting buried in the US development program ATM
(that program is not as good as what it used to be) and slowing down his development,.. (they are fuc**** using him as a RW, instead of a center...fuc*** up shit) but then again, maybe he gets to play for a better team and gets coaching he deserves, at pro level.

Portland Winterhawks is a great franchise, known from developing future star players to the NHL.
-the team he should be playing for

What is gods name are you talking about? They had 10 players go in the top 47 in 2019, and will likely have about a dozen go in the first two rounds this year. When did it used to be better than that?

Even with the last two years being “down” years they have had Sanderson, Beniers, Hughes, Pasta, Bordeleau, Faber, Lucius and Boucher (who at the very least was still good enough for a team to put him in their top 10).
This isn’t even including other non top prospects who could likely also become noteworthy/impact players in the nhl like Behrens, Duke, Savage, Hreshuck, J. Hughes, Kleven and many others. In 7-8 years when all of these guys are in their prime you could plausibly make a legit NHL team out of just these two “down” years.

This guy is phenomenal, if he even improved his skating a little bit he has 30 goal potential. Ducks top 9 is looking really dangerous :sarcasm:

What's encouraging is that the vast majority of his points are coming from him skating hard and being relentless – I think those were two of the biggest concerns he had pre-draft. His skating (and explosiveness) and strength still needs a lot of work, but seems that he is doing the right things for eventually adopting to the pro game.

Any Storm fans can chime in with what they see? Is that team 2nd in the division really as much because Pasta as the stats show?
