16 goals in 14 games...

He passes the eye test so well to the point where you can't believe he doesn't score more. Such a complete player in all areas of the game. I don't know how Babcock will turn this kid away next camp.

I think the Marchand comparisons ring true, but Rob is slightly more of a shoot-first player.

After scoring just 1 goal and an assist in his last 4 games, Nick scores a hatty.
- What happened in this game thou, line brawl or something?
Couple guys trying to back-check gave him some extra shots after he scored, so all his teammates had his back. It was a bit of a line brawl, Robertson didn't drop the gloves though. Bad job by the refs to not get in there quick enough, and they assigned the fighting majors to the wrong people lol. Very fun game to watch as a Petes fan

His game seems so easily transferable to the NHL. Obviously his skill, hockey IQ and natural goal scoring ability are all excellent, but kid also has an outstanding motor, battles so hard for the puck, and really gets under the skin of his opposition too.

He was also one of the youngest players in the draft too, just a few days away from being a 2020 draftee. Seems like a steal. Wouldn’t be surprised at all to see him make the Leafs out of camp next year. IMO he’s our #2 prospect, behind only Sandin, and ahead of Liljegren, Bracco, Korshkov, etc.

He didn't really fight so much. Other team was taking cheap shots at him all night, Thomas Harley took him out at center ice earlier in the game and a teammate instantly stepped up and dropped the gloves w Harley. Then after his hat trick goal a Steelhead player hit him after he scored so SDA immediately jumped the guy which turned into an all-out brawl. Of the 5 guys on the ice fighting, Robertson probably was fighting the least (didn't drop the gloves, didn't take a penalty).

Let's not get ahead of ourselves by claiming he's better than Liljegren. Robertston has had a fantastic start, but Liljegren is playing 25+ minutes a game, playing top-pair and 1st PK as a 20 year old in a men's league dominating 5v5 shot share... with the points finally coming.

If Mikheyev isn't considered a prospect anymore (I had him 3rd pre-season), I'd put Robertson slightly ahead of Bracco today, but still not in that Liljegren/Sandin tier yet.

Disagree, I think Robertson will be better than Sandin/Liljegren and i'm very high on the latter two. I realize it's probably an unpopular opinion and maybe too early to say, considering he's proven less in a worse league, but Robertson has a unique it factor that I think will make him a star one day. I also think he has more stand-out, elite elements to his game to go along with a rare drive train.

Haven't been this convinced by a prospect since the Big 3.

So a lot of people are saying Robertson would be a top10 pick in 2020 (if he was born a week later he wouldn't have been in the 2019 draft)

So with this in mind I'm comparing Robertson to the top10 OHL forwards projected in 2020. So according to NHL.com,

Cole Perfetti (projected to go 5th OA): 5.10", 180lbs - 5g24a(29pts)
Nick Robertson: 5.09", 162lbs - 17g9a(26pts) (edit: this does not include the 2 goals from today)

Now obviously it is still very early in the season (and all I'm doing is comparing stats) so depending where Perfetti is drafted I would probably take Robertson before him

19 goals in 16 games lmao

The level of steal that this pick will end up being....... just unreal, plus the chemistry with SDA. I really like how we are drafting overall, and add in the free wallets we are finding, this is how you keep building, and have the ability to move a big forward for help down the road.

He's going to be sidelined for a game or two with a broken finger. Nothing displaced, and he practiced in a cast without discomfort.
