I'm the furthest from an "X's and O's" guy but who are our options? Queneville? Id rather not. Woodcroft? I don't exactly see an up and comer working out here. What are the names on the hot board?

I certainly hope it’s not Q

Then again I could see Q being the 1st choice of these clueless FSG twats. :shakehead :shakehead

“Hurr durr…he was part of a dynasty. He’s exactly what we need!!! Now lets’s jump in the caah and go plan the parade!!” - FSG probably

People here liked to call them Gladams, so as coaches you'll need to differentiate by calling them Aass

I don't know or care enough to follow hockey extensively enough to name names, but somebody who is new to the scene would be nice. Someone who hasn't had their coaching brain tempered in the kiln of NHL coaching, so they just default to low event hockey. Gimme someone who is willing to adapt and evolve and try new shit. Most importantly, someone with a track record for developing good young talent. This team's gonna need that sooner than later.

I'm on no way advocating for keeping Sully. I just self identified as a very not X and O type and it's possible I may better than Sully 🤣
Hire Eddie O back for all I care. Just get this franchise out from under the Sully spell. Just like with the Jarry situation, we needed some mediocre fill-in for a year or so until we could home grow our or replacement or wait for a better option to become available.

Sure beats listening to him broadcast games, and he might be able to use his phenomenal coaching skill to get us that #1 overall pick again. I'll take that over Sullivan 10 times out of 10.
That 03/04 powerplay was top 10 that year. At least he's smart enough to figure out that part of the game, which makes him more qualified than our current entire coaching staff.

This reminds me of the Jarry extension summer. The correct answer is anyone but Sully.
Yeah I mean it is possible that the Pens could become even worse with another coach, but even if that happens, so what? They're already bad. There's no risk in firing Sullivan. They aren't going to get better while he's here. That's abundantly clear.

Either Sullivan is a good coach who they don’t listen to/can’t play his system or he’s not a good coach because he can’t translate what he wants to his players effectively. EITHER WAY what are we doing here? The Pens have been chokers in the most embarrassing sense of the word since 2019.

There's also the fact that if the new coach DOES suck, there's more of a chance the organization will can them pronto and not keep them around for a decade under the pretense they're a top 3 coach in hockey.

I think my biggest gripe with his tenure here is a 1A/1B situation:

1A) Should have been fired after the bubble-cup 2020 blunder unreal he's here 5 years (of continuous, increasing failure) later.

1B) His fingerprints...hell..his DNA on the roster. His impact to the players we seek out, trade assets for, or prevent from even targeting have downright been disgusting or bizarre for years now. I have no clue how he got so involved in the front office/GMing role but I genuinely don't know if Dubas even has a job. It seems that Sullivan has had the keys to the kingdom for years now. Without Sid/Geno/Letang, I'd be shocked if this team weren't 4 lines of ZAR and DOC. Zero event hockey.

You fire him now to give fans the impression you give a flying shit. I think this roster is simply not good enough to even make the playoffs so it doesn't matter what coach you bring in. Dubas played the only card he had (cap space) with Graves/Jarry...and will soon do Petts. They were in a bad spot with maybe one hope of improving and he ruined that single chance. This year might truly be the first year that things are NOT Sullivan's fault. Credit where credit is due - this roster blows. But you know what? Prior rosters weren't as bad and Sullivan sailed them to disaster.
