I'm going to wait until January or early February before making any definitive conclusions as to who should go 1OA. I will say this, however; while Misa has always played a strong game off the puck (not sure what that poster was thinking when he made the comment that it was a weakness of his), is a very good skater with very good puck skills, he never really drove his line and was more the recipient of the offensive work put in by others..... until this season. He is making everything happen out there now and of course if he keeps this up he will most certainly be in the mix for 1st overall. Still to early though and we will see how he does as the season grinds on.
I don't think I saw a game at all last season, but the one prior (his exceptional extra year) I watched a few games, and I though he was the driver then. This season is more on par with what I expected after seeing him in those games. He had "it" imo. I'm no scout however...

I admit I have never seen him play but looking at the numbers he seems to be shredding the OHL, I am curious to why he is only 4th or 5th in most mocks....

It's most likely due to a hangover from last season, where he was good but not great. I don't think you will see him at the 4th or 5th slot that much longer. I personally like him better than Martone and just behind Hagens.

Last season Misa had a different role. Beck, Sapovaliv, Hay all NHL prospects with age and experience ahead of him. He was also a big part of winning the MC.
Last year was last year he is playing very well this season and his natural position.
Would look good in a Habs uniform with all that young talent.
This debate will be all season right until whatever team chooses first. The top 5 are all good picks depending upon your teams needs. BPA is getting to be a matter of opinion I see no one leaps and bounds ahead by any means. Enjoy the ride it will be entertaining.

I think he's insane. If there was only one other player than Hagens I'd like at #1 overall in 2025 I think it'd be him. Sees the ice very very well. Often a step ahead of everyone else.

Questions whether he'll be a C at the NHL level are always tough to answer at this age. Just because he's capable doesn't necessarily mean it's probable. The mullet really pulls it all together for me and is the final piece of the puzzle. Hope to see him and Parekh light it up together at the WJCs.

would be awesome to see all of Misa, Martone and Schaefer on the World Junior squad.

Misa vs Bedard in the first 23 games of their dy season:

Bedard 19+30, 143 shots, 256 fow (54%), 5 multi-goal games, 10 goalless games, 1 pointless game

Misa 23+23, 103 shots, 298 fow (56%), 6 multi-goal games, 8 goalless games, 1 pointless game

Okay. After that Bedard exploded insanely and I don't believe Misa is a talent on Bedard's level, but I can't help but see how insane his start to the season is and I believe he has a bizarre ceiling, maybe close to Bedard's level.

I am no expert by any means but I don't see Bedard-level talent in Misa. A very nice scoring winger though, a Taylor Hall type of career with more consistency.

Not on the same level, maybe the only ones on that level, imo, would be Michkov/Celebrini. But Misa is just below alongside Carlsson, Fantilli, Demidov, Hagens.

Misa played just Okay by the standards set. He has the ability to put up some numbers quick. Martone will be ready all the time in the Ozone when Mike has the puck. He looks very solid on his skates, taking + giving hits 6’1 185 at 17+ wait till he fills out.

Misa 1 goal and many others on the team had solid performances. CAN vs USA is bragging rights till next game. The intensity was shown almost every shift with some dust ups getting quite heated. It reminded me just how important it is for these young men to show all their skills to Owners, GMs, Coaches, scouts some 300 NHL personnel. They are playing for their futures which makes it so important to look good.
