doesnt have the size, but now their resume looks a lot closer. Was comparing him with Holtz, but I can see hes more dynamic and his shot is much more lethal. If he develops, hes found money in a weak year at 15.
I don't think the 22 draft was weak at all, some decent guys after 15 as well.

It did lack star power but there might be a ton of solid players from the draft.

Lekkerimaki has also found his game after a rough post draft to say the least.

It's just me or his skillset looks little bit limited except his excellent shot? All his goals looks similar - perfectly placed long distance shots. Don't get me wrong, he looks good and it's logical he does what works for him, but I miss some more creativity and another dimension from him in order to succeed at NHL level.

I'm sure he can be a PP force (despite better goalies) but I'm not sure if it's a good sign he has like just two or three ways how to score a goal. I saw good handling skills in his draft season, but right now it's all about the shot. I'm not saying it's not gonna work in the NHL but many great players busted because they relied solely on their shot.

I dont speak Swedish but im pretty sure the announcer was saying "holy sh*$" after that snipe?

Goals in 3 straight games for Lekky in the SHL. 2 goals so far today... Were on hat trick watch as the game is not over yet.
?
IS there any concerned Canuck fans out there that thinks Lekky could be traded for a big big fish in ALL IN now move?

Wow. NHL shot easily. Looks pretty mobile and getting to open spots on the ice, meaning good IQ and motor.

Am I concerned? I mean, if they traded him for somebody like Guentzel to go for it I'd be hyped. But I don't think there's any risk of trading him for a depth piece like a Tanev. He is an important piece for us in two years to give us flexibility when Boeser expires.

He is a 19 yr old trying to survive vs grown professional men. I think he is sticking to his strength which is shot and skating. He is also a very good playmaker with excellent hands.

In his NHL prime I see a top 6 player that can pot in 25-35 goals in his sleep and will be a dangerous 1 shot game breaker.

I would like to see more rushes to the net to showcase his hands too. but he's one of those Laine types that can consistently beat goalies from distance, Im not going to fault him for abusing his talent.

He had a lot more rushes in the WJC, it maybe dependent on the linemates hes playing with, i unfortunately dont follow his deployment this year. Whatever they were doing at Orebro, its killing the offense and only elite talent is breaking through and scoring goals for them.

Orebro is a hot mess.... They fired their coach in January. Afterwards they were shutout in 4 games in January.
Yesterday was the first time Orebro scored more than 2 goals since Jan 13.

I assume we see Lekkerimaki transition to North America as early as this spring to perhaps join the Abby Canucks for a playoff run.

I had a laugh that he scored this way immediately after @Raistlin and @LeonTheKing were talking about only scoring from distance and not taking it to the net
To be fair that was more than a week ago when I wrote that. But yeah, if he elects to shoot from distance on a pretty clear path to the net, I'd think he's trolling me. Good to see him do that while fighting off a check. Exciting prospect for sure playing against men, I guess production in the AHL is the only way to make believers out of his naysayers at this stage.

I have to imagine he comes over and starts the year in Abby next season. I think he is going to have a reasonably short time there before getting called up.

With 8 goals in his last 10 games he's now 4th in the entire SEL and leads Orebro in scoring after missing 6 games while winning a silver medal and MVP of the U20's in which he went 7-3-10 in 7 games.....not bad

Hypothetically, IF Vancouver were going to trade him like Philly did with Gauthier, would he yield as good or maybe an even better return?

Drysdale has 2pts in 18gp since being traded to Philly and is yet again plagued by an injury (week-to-week currently)
You'd better hope Lekkerimakki would yeild a better return lol

It depends whether they are as foolish as Philly in selecting a return. Abstractly, Gauthier is a more highly valued prospect.

Lekkeri looks so much faster than he did a year ago.
Crazy what a year partially off with Mono will do to a player. He looked like crap last year.
