All 3 Canucks on Team Sweden played well this tournament. I think EP and Lekkerimaki will play in Abby next season, and Willander back at BU. All 3 could see time with the Canucks the following year.

Been confirmed by Allvin (intermission interview on Swedish TV) that EP2.0 and Lekkerimäki will be joining Abbotsford for next season. EP2.0 might come over as early as the end of his season this year.

Willander will return to BU and hopefully have the opportunity to be the #1 guy and expected to deliver on the offensive side of things as well. Massively impressed of him during world juniors.

Might have to catch a few Abbottsford games next season to just watch Lek. I love his no fs given type of offense. Lethal shot and shoots from everywhere. Combine that with his development a long the boards and the feistiness he's started to show. We've got something that could be special here.

Canucks have a pretty solid core of prospects coming up, we should be able to add a few NHLers a year for the next.

Basically team Sweden coming up just like we always have had since Naslund and the Sedins. We have no good Canadians at all.

Lethal shot. One of his goals reminded me of a Prime Markus Naslund wrister.

Goal Scoring aside, I was also very impressed with his 2 way game and detail without the puck. He was very tenacious at forechecking.

Offensively, he was dynamic. Silky hands and under-rated playmaking abilities. His shot is obviously his money maker.

Things that need improvement.

Board battles. Gaining strength will come side by side with that but for now i thought he struggled with wall play.

I'd also like to see him around the net more, his shot is a boomer for sure but for him to reach his full potential in the NHL he cant simply be a peremeter guy.

To me his potential is top line winger. Game Breaker with his shot.

Player comparison stylistically is in the mold of Pastrnak/F Forsberg.

He could be a Filip Forsberg type, I liked him
doesnt have the size, but now their resume looks a lot closer. Was comparing him with Holtz, but I can see hes more dynamic and his shot is much more lethal. If he develops, hes found money in a weak year at 15.

Lekky is 6'0 170lbs at 19 yrs old.

Forsberg today is what? 6'1 - 205lbs?

From reading draft reports, Forsberg was around 6'0- 6'1 and 175lbs at same age as Lekky.

I do think that Lekky's build is more wirey than Forsberg's but i dont think size is going to be that much different once Lekky hits his playing weight and size as he matures.

Filip was 6'1.25 and 188 lbs at the combine. He then grew a couple of cms and put on some weight. I don't see Lekky becoming another Filip anyway.

I will always be grateful to Benning for our core but development at the AHL level was terrible but I guess in fairness, most of his picks that panned out made the jump bypassing the AHL..
It's nice to have guys in Abby that play in the same system as the big club. Been really impressed with podz and Raty and it's nice to know EP, Lek and Brew will be joining Abby and learning the same system as the big club under JC.

I'll probably get slammed for this but unless a kid from the CHL is like a top 3 pick can't miss, I much prefer Europe and US prospects.
I think it's easier to judge kids playing against men in the SHL, KHL, etc or the NCAA USNDP .

I think the CHL maybe due to the sheer size and age group has the ability to make some prospects look better than they are, where in other countries draft eligible kids play older competition making it easier to evaluate.

OT-winner

I dont speak Swedish but im pretty sure the announcer was saying "holy sh*$" after that snipe?

Goals in 3 straight games for Lekky in the SHL. 2 goals so far today... Were on hat trick watch as the game is not over yet.
?
IS there any concerned Canuck fans out there that thinks Lekky could be traded for a big big fish in ALL IN now move?
