should be sent down to the vhl and play on the first line there. but in that case rotenberg will lose a convenient scapegoat and his personal nhl pet project. habs fans have plenty of reasons to worry about. rotenber could easily mess up demidov's development.

Habs fans on our board are reeling over Demidov's treatment by headcoach Rotenberg. This prompted many posters to say Demidov needs to GTFO ASAP. Imagining convulated scenarios right out of a movie:

One poster even suggested this:

Bobrov is on the first plane to St. Petersburg with a briefcase full of cash personally filled by Geoff Molson

Which prompted me to suggest a future movie:

It was reported after the transfer that PHI paid SKA 1mil. The official reason for his release (compassionate contract termination) was just a cover for the transfer which was illegal due to the war.

Michkov almost certainly terminated his own contract, taking all necessary legal steps to do so. It's likely why Rotenberg didn't give him the time of day.....even for the national team. Philadelphia just paid (i.e negotiated) the amount Michkov had to reimburse SKA.
Rotenberg then said it was a compassionate release to save face for the domestic Russian audience.

It's a totally different situation with Demidov.

Why not just loan him out like they did with Michkov?

I expect they'd trade him by mid-season if he is still receiving inadequate minutes, like they did Khusnutdinov. Rotenberg wont be allowed to screw up his development. Demidov is too important to Russian hockey.
Montreal Canadien fans just give into hysterics, not reality.

They can't loan a player in the last year of their contract.

They could trade him though, which considering they have no desire to use him and he appears to be leaving for NA next year, makes some sense.
