Demidov would not have been in the NHL this year. Be serious.
Lol, guys like Luchanko and Shane Wright are in the NHL this year. Demidov is clearly better than both of them. Hell, even on MTL, Kapanen and Heineman made the team. Are you going to argue those guys would’ve made the team over Demidov? Be serious.

You’re being obtuse to be obtuse. It’s fine. You guys think he’s going to be a superstar from day 1 and it’s going to blow up in your face but oh well.

There's a good chance he is going to be playing in the NHL this year to close out the NHL season after his KHL contract is done.
That may be true but there was 0 chance he was playing in the NHL this year even without the contract issue. He’s not physically ready. The skill is there though.

Demidov production is clearly impressive, but he’s playing on a much better team
In a bad situation. Playing with bottom of the lineup players with PP scraps for time. By all rights he should be on their top line and see how he truly shines.

Demidov easily has NHL level talent, but I don't think he's physically ready for the NHL.
The only current NHLer from the '24 draft class is Celebrini, and Celebrini can't even stay healthy.

Demidov is not clearly better than Wright at this moment. Wright has taken big strides and looks good right now, just snakebit. I expect Demidov to make big gains and eventually surpass Wright, but you can't tell me he's clearly better just from playing in the KHL, which is full of weak players.

Huge skill gap between KHL and nhl.

He 100% would have been, we are talking about the Habs, not Florida.
I mean I guess if you would rush him then it makes sense.

He would absolutely be in the NHL this year. Skill level is off the charts. Keep coping haters lol
No one is hating, you guys are just beating your chest that you have the next Mcdavid which is cringe.

No one ever said he is McDavid, just that he would’ve been good enough to play in the NHL this season. But hey it’s better to make up some story so you can try te be mad over it.
Why would I be mad over it? Montreal needs a good talent on their team. I’m all for it.

Nobody is calling him mcdavid bud lol, and the hate is coming from so many angles it would be easier to count the posts that weren't hate.😂

We are ain't excited about what we have here because most of us in our lifetime do not remember ever having a player of this caliber.

The only knock on him amongst the scouting community was that he done what he did against inferior competition. Well now he's doing it against the KHL with a historic p/60 and he just keeps looking better and better as the days go on. His progress has exceeded all of our expectations.

You're incredibly wrong, No player has ever gone from MHL to NHL, Demidov is showing clear deficiencies in the KHL, he's nowhere near NHL ready. Luchanko is far more NHL ready than Demidov and that has nothing to do with which player is better. Luchanko can play in the NHL right now and not be a liability, Demidov cannot, despite being the "better" player.

This kid would be one of the most universally praised prospects if he were drafted by almost any other team

Most of the posts in here are pure cope
You are partially correct. He would be universally praised if he didn't get drafted by the Habs, not because he went to the Habs but because Habs fans do the same shit every single year with everyone of their prospects and turn everyone off on them. It's not enough to have a star prospect, you want to compare them to prospects they're not close to as good as.

He's really not though.... his P/60 vs trash teams under .500 is 7.xx, his P/60 vs .500+ teams is 1.xx

He has 2 points in 11 games played vs teams over .500 and 15 points in 10 games vs bottom feeder teams.

He's getting 15 minutes a night vs trash teams and only 5 minutes a night vs the top teams. It's very hard to gauge exactly how well he's doing and this p/60 number is useless because of these facts.

The KHL has 6 very good teams and rest are well below AHL level.

Those saying Demidov would be in the NHL this year are either delusional or Habs front office is really that stupid.

It's not a matter of "good enough", it's a matter of proper development. Demidov himself said he wasn't ready for the NHL and that playing in the KHL is a good thing. You can't go from the weakest junior league in hockey (MHL) to the NHL.

Why are you lying? he plays almost exclusively with PPG Kuznetsov, he's playing on by far the best offensive team in the KHL. His point share % is far below players like Artamanov, who only players 2 minutes a night more with much weaker teammates.

Demidov is in a very idea situation usage wise. They let him run wild vs weak teams and hold him back vs strong teams, they're dipping his feet and by years end he will be playing 17 minutes a night every game.

Habs fans sending death threats to SKA twitter handle over his usage when he was getting more minutes all year than any forward his age up until game 15 is hilarious. Habs fans thinking he's the best player on SKA already are even more hilarious.

Demidov only gets hate BECAUSE of how unhinged the fanbase is.

Come at me.

He's literally playing with KHL superstars, ex NHL Allstar
Chicago made a massive mistake in not drafting Demidov. That guy is going to be a superstar in the NHL and the best Russian in the league once Kuch falls off.
