No chance is a laughable statement. Unlikely? Sure. He has as much of a chance as any prospect that exists, unless you believe nobody under 25 will ever score 100 pts in the NHL again.

Obviously most rookies never reach the lofty expectactions people put on them. But if there is finally ONE habs prospect that has the POTENTIAL (emphasis on that word) to become a superstar. It surely is Demidov.

I'll give you credit, most people have now seen plenty of Demidov over the past few months and can easily see the potential he has. Most of the trolls have run away from here so now its an unabashed hype thread. You see, they don't want to look bad next year so they don't post anything hoping their takes will be forgotten.

Every statistic model sees it too, I've yet to see anyone in the mainstream say anything other than some variation of praising his skill, IQ, and enormous upside. It is a bit much considering everyone is thinking the same thing with this player.

Nikishin is already better than Voynov ever was, then there is Kuznetsov (injured right now though), Grigorenko, Plotnikov.

I would not trade him straight up for Michkov.

Both do different things, I'm not going to say one is better than the other, but for the habs, Demidov is more valuable

Count me in the club of people that are happy Demidov had to face adversity this year. It doesn't matter whether it was deserved or not. He will not cross over as an entitled kid and get angry at his coach whenever something doesn't go his way.

We ruined Kotkaniemi, who looked like he was a good kid by all accounts, by bringing him up too early and making him feel entitled. When he had to face adversity getting scratched in the playoffs a few times, he bailed on the team. I suspect he would not have reacted this way had we not rushed him to the NHL and allowed him a pace of development that would not feed his ego as much.

Kotkaniemi "ruined" himself by not improving his skating and failing to be able to assert himself offensively. He's way too reactionary and you can't be elite that way unless you are top 5 percent in the skils department, which he isn't.

I 100% agree with you. I will be very happy to see Demidov having the same impact of Kaprizov and I think, he will do that.

If he become better, that's going to be fantastic for the Habs future.
