Demidov has no chance of being one of the best players in the league, and illusions produced by the lacking quality of competition in the modern KHL do nothing to dispel reality.

No chance is a laughable statement. Unlikely? Sure. He has as much of a chance as any prospect that exists, unless you believe nobody under 25 will ever score 100 pts in the NHL again.

Obviously most rookies never reach the lofty expectactions people put on them. But if there is finally ONE habs prospect that has the POTENTIAL (emphasis on that word) to become a superstar. It surely is Demidov.

Despite the hysteria from Montreal fans, Rotenberg was never gonna continually give Demidov limited minutes. His ice time would increase on SKA, or he would be traded.

The year Kaprizov broke the U-20 record in the KHL with 42p in 49gp the leading scorer on his team was Linus Omark with 56 in 55. The same Omark who couldn't even keep an NHL job. This was when the league was vastly stronger?
