F Gavin McKenna - Medicine Hat Tigers, WHL (2026 Draft)

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

Watched another game yesterday, this guy was built to rack up points. PP magician.

He's clearly good enough for the WHL next year. So the question is: will they get with the times and open the door for him?

Personally doubt it happens but that's just a guess.

Bedard broke the exceptional barrier in the WHL, hopefully Gavin does too.

Unless one of the NAX guys scores 10 or more points in the last regular season game tomorrow, then Gavin McKenna finishes the regular season leading the CSSHL with 65 pts in 35 games as a 14 year old. Thats pretty exciting to see

Even more impressive when you consider he was 13 until late December.

Does anyone have an idea of what his current rank is in the WHL draft? I have to imagine he's top 3, but as a Yukoner, I need to hear it said lol

People also need to say he is from Yukon, nobody says that a guy is from the British Columbia or from the Ontario.

There is no "the" in front of Yukon.

No, you can use 'The' if you want. In fact, that is the official way to refer to the region in territorial government materials, which includes travel and tourism.

The name of the territory was changed to simply "Yukon" in 2003, from "Yukon Territory" under the Yukon Party's government — though many people continued to call it "the Yukon." As of Friday, "the Yukon" became the recommended name to use in territorial government materials. Aug 10, 2021

Bedard level prospect?
No, not for the moment. Roobroeck far exceeded him in points during the WSI U15 and at the WSI U12 3 years ago. Kosick has a more impressive profile.

A name to remember for the top of the 2026 ranking as 3rd offensive canadian. Unless there is a big change.

I have McKenna over Kosick actually mostly due to Kosick being smaller but his offensive potential may be greater than the other 2 but I'd go with Roobroeck right now.

I would contend that McKenna leading the U-18 league in scoring, while playing 4 months of the year as a 13 year old, is just as, if not more impressive than what Kosick did this year.

McKenna couldn't play in the U-15 league last year, so there is no way of knowing how he would've performed in that league in similar circumstances.

On the one hand, McKenna, overtaken by Roobroeck and who is far worse than Bedard U15.

On the other, Kosick, who does better than Bedard U14.

It remains very superficial as an analysis however I am obliged to estimate Kosick in front of McKenna.
