Ok I was curious because I was under the impression that the prognosis was pretty dire.

I keep thinking of guys like Kesler, Seabs and Backstrom who it basically ended their careers. I know those guys were in their 30s though. I know Puljujarvi just had it but he was never any good anyway.
I'm pretty sure Kesler and Backstrom had the same hip surgery Kane had, but that the hip surgery is different than your typical hip surgery that Nazar, Kucherov, and Marchand had.

Gonna have to pull up the receipts from those that already gave up on Nazar lol
Who gave up on him? It was obvious last year was a lost season for him. And the main boards don’t know anything, maybe like 3 prospects they jerk off but that’s it. If I have to hear about Lane Hutson one more time, I hope every Habs prospect busts.

Discussions from this very thread about his career ending injury lmao

It’s only summer hockey and I haven’t watched anything but highlights but even if you put aside the 4 goals he looks just as quick and shifty as he did in his draft year. That’s what was really missing from his game when he came back this year. If that hip is fully healed with no lingering issues he’s going to be special

Am I wrong in thinking that Hutson is basically a smaller Erik Gustafsson? Will score points, good on the pp, okay skating, bad defense?

Have I told you the tale of Marc-Andre Bergeron? Same thing, most likely to be a guy who you can’t win with. When it comes down to those hard games in the playoffs, you can’t have players like that on the ice.

Difference between Hutson and Gus is that the game flows through Hutson when he’s on the ice. Just completely controls everything offensively. Biggest concerns with him at the next level are strength and rush defense

I think Hutson is a much better skater than Gustafsson. Haven't seen enough of him to have an opinion on his defensive play.

I’ll be honest and say I’ve only seen him here and there. This was a big moment and it looks like he can’t skate backwards.

That’s a really good example. You‘re taught in peewee to play the body in that situation. If he does, that play never gets close to developing. And he’s certainly not a great skater speed or edge wise. You can get away with that playing on the wing, but not on defense, and certainly not at that size.

Well then I stand corrected. Like I said I haven't seen him play enough to notice how he plays defense. What I've seen of him are clips in the offensive end and he looks like a whirling dervish on skates.

Hell some here think Moore is the better prospect (and I like Oliver Moore alot but in my opinion, he ain't Nazar).

Can't wait till this kid is turning heads again in Michigan.

We could really use him getting back on track.

Prospect pool is gonna take a hit after Bedard and Reichel become full time NHLers.

Having Nazar turn into something akin to last year's Logan Cooley would be huge.

Maybe check back on that. I literally said I think Nazar will be good.

I would still rather have Ryan Leonard. That has not changed because of a 10-1 game at a summer showcase.

"I think Nazar will be good. What your saying makes no sense. If the value is in your favor you trade him..."

I hope Nazar turns out to be the best player in the world just because I would have rather had a 2023 top 8 draft pick doesnt mean I gave up on him.

I think they are the same level of player. 6 of one, half dozen of the other. You cannot go wrong with having either player.
