That's an OK deal. He's a pretty solid 3rd line center and fits a lot what we need more of in the bottom lines.

And he shows up in the playoffs.

I expected him gone and getting 3-3.5m given GMs overpaying on July 1st, good deal. Holmberg and him are the bottom 6 centres I'm guessing

Your Worst Nightmare
With Kampf you get someone who can play at 3C on a shutdown line or as 4C if the depth is there. He has performed well as a shutdown 3C in Toronto for two years on a contender and has played first unit PK unit with Marner. So, that stays in tact. Good on draws. The money and term are fine considering his usage and age. I would have preferred they signed Acciari instead if they were to keep one of the two, we'll see what he ends up getting and where.

I won't be as happy if Kerfoot someone how slithers his way into the Leafs middle six.

Lets be honest, is it too much? Yes, but its NOT egregious in the sense this is a unique player that we don't have abundance of.

It's already known Holl and Kerfoot aren't likely to return so if 3.5 of Kerfoot and 2.0 of Holl go, and we instead put it at Kampf at 2.5 then im NOT throwing rocks.

Now just don't overpay Matthews and don't let him just get a 4-5 year deal on that overpayment.

ALSO DON'T YOU DARE TRADE WILLY!!!!

If you convert from Leafs currency to NHL currency, it’s 4yrs at 1.75, not bad for a guy that has do a lot of the heavy lifting for the C position on a team.
