How is he under rated in NA when his rankings are usually top 5ish?

His skillset is there to see but the production just isn't and that's nobody's fault really but such limited minutes in the KHL makes it a risk, al;biet a very small one in my and most scouting services as well.
1.He is notoriously rated below Miroshnichenko, that's what I meant. Because people got on the Miro hype train someday and they never got off. Also the Top5ish rakings are only popping up lately and rarely. For the record I don't know if he is Top5 in this draft. What I know he certainly is not to be underrated because of his KHL play.

2.All of his NA peeers play in juniors. That does not stop scouts to rate them high. I am on my part a bit cautious with great junior numbers. They are worth less than any performance against men the experience tells me. And right now due to the Olympics break in the KHL Yurov plays in the MHL and proves his status pretty consistently.

Like Michkov the kid was slumping after he got back from Canada because of days lost to quarantine. But he's been on fire lately. 11 points in the last 5 games so far, and can be more depending on today's game.

I have not been able to find his contract details anywhere - how long is he tied to Russia? If he's got a few more years to go overseas I think it will really hurt his draft position. Could see this turning into another Podkolzin situation where his team views him as having one foot out the door and he plays with sub-10 mins a night for several years. Not good for the development

He's signed untill 04.30.2023.

So he'll be available for the NHL playoffs the season after next? Unless he's a top 3 pick, that's about as early as you'd even want him anyway. I'd love to learn what his personality is like, how passionate he is about wanting to play in the NHL, stuff like that.

Has anyone been able to find any interviews with any of his recent coaches?

Good kid

Russian winger Danila Yurov is playing in the Metallurg Magnitogorsk system, splitting time between the KHL and MHL. He struggled to get ice time in the KHL, playing mainly on the fourth line. He didn’t put up a point in 21 regular season games or 19 playoff games. However, he was very good at the MHL level. In 23 games, he scored 13 goals and 26 assists for 36 points. Yurov also had a goal at the World Juniors, but the tournament was postponed due to a COVID-19 outbreak.

Does being a 13th forward actually count as playing on the fourth line?

Fair enough. My notes from the games I watched are that he barely got any ice time. What we call it is splitting hairs, the main point is that when you see the lack of production, you also have to consider he was barely playing.

I was listening to a podcast the other day, and someone compared him to Hossa. Thought that was interesting.

I still remember how impressive he looked at the U18s last year. I thought he had a better U18s in his -1 season than a lot of the high profile guys had this year.

As a fan of a team drafting 8th, I would fully be on board with picking a player with his type of upside.

Yurov feels like a bit of a sleeper at this point. There's a bit of mystery with him - obviously he destroyed the MHL but his limited KHL minutes and the WJC being cut short (and no questions about Russia's participation in events) really kind of cut him off from the kind statistical "hype" building or international exposure that would normally be generated.

Will be interesting to see where he, Kemell and Lekkerimäki end up - feel like they are going to be kind of in the same area where teams may be targeting a winger with lots of upside in the 6-15 range.

I like this player and wouldn't mind taking him at #10 if he's there for the Ducks. I do have concerns about the world situation going on, his contract situation, etc... naturally....
