Hence why he was drafted 76th overall and Michkov is projected top-5.
Should still be in the NHL tbh. Fantastic by play-driving metrics (best in that game) plus the PP goal in his one game with sharks.

He actually played (and scored) in an away game with the Cuda against Coachella Valley.
BTW: he just picked up his first NHL assist on a PP with a nice feed from behind the net.

Yegor Spiridonov, Danil Bashkirov, Maxim Groshev, Zakhar Bardakov .. all those guys picked ahead of Gushchin at the 2021 WJC because they didnt dare travel to the North America

All these guys are older than Gushchin and are the utility guys, Gushchin didn't compete with them that year, but with guys like Gritsyuk, Chinakhov, Podkolzin, Amirov, Afanasyev etc. Not to mention that this team had NA-based guys and was coached by Larionov, it is hard to accuse him of being anti-NA. I could understand if you'd complain about him not making the 2022 cancelled WJC team though.

this seems a bit reckless for the Cuda to play him tonight to me. he was physical in the Sharks game last night, willing to push guys, create turnovers, and didnt get knocked down as much as Bordeleau

Great first pro season, really found his stride down the stretch. 13 g, 12 a in his last 25 games.
Will be an interesting camp next season.
