Hes obviously really good but he still strikesme as a guy that cant be your best player if you want to win. Kinda like Johnny Hockey in Calgary. Very good player but the size factor and some of the stuff he does out there has me thinking that. I could obviously be wrong. I think its wayyyy too early to have him in the top 5 in a redraft but hes right around there

He is more Patrick Kane than Johnny Gaudreau. Caufield is the real deal, no doubt about that!

He's not the best player on the team. Suzuki is.

I'm not sure that is or rather should be the expectation for him though. He has a chance to be a very good scoring winger in the NHL but I doubt he'll be carrying the mail. Very few players his size/position do (Patrick Kane and MSL are a couple that come to mind).

Yvan Cournoyer was never the Habs best player either. If Caulfield, as a small, situational player, is well-used, with those hands and that brain, and yes he skates better than I thought, he's gonna be a star. CC is a weapon, use him.

Caufield will excel in the regular season and score goals. When the playoffs come around and they actually start hitting he will struggle.

I think he showed he certainly has star potential. Likes to shoot, confident in his shot, can move well. He might have chunks of play where he struggles to score, most pure scorers do, but I expect him to be a top line option for a while.

Looks like a lock to be a 30 goal 60 point player with lots of room for more. His playmaking also looks great. There's some immaturity in his game but that's to be expected. He'll be real good.

He’s really impressive, just so dynamic and dangerous all the time. Crazy shot, great with the puck on his stick, quick and shifty. Probably won’t end up the best player in his draft (my money’s on one of Seider, Zegras or Byram), but should end up one of the better ones.

Has a very legit shot to be a DeBrincat level player, and a small chance to be a shoot-first MSL level player.

I think his skating and passing vision are already quite a bit better than Debrincat it's hard for me to imagine not surpassing him. I am with you on Seider probably being the best in the draft when all is said and done, I think people are being way too hard on Hughes too he's nasty

Skating and stride looked choppy and powerless.

Agility looked better than expected.

Will do well in open style hockey but skating needs to get much much better.

I disagree with that assessment.

He will never be a power forward that's not his game and his acceleration and top speed is fine. He has shown more than enough that he can hold his own. He does not need to be much much better at all. He is already a great skater and unless you have crazy expectations like McDavid I don't see how he could/need to be much much better anyway.

He was arguably the best offensive (along with Suzuki) threat throughout the whole playoff and he has not even 1 year of pro experience yet. That bode very well for his future.

Really impressed by his play in the playoffs.

He stills needs to find the right timing to be as effective with his shot arsenals. The good news is that he's having a lot of scoring chances, has great playmaking skills and is putting effort in transition and the defensive zone.

Eager to see his progression for next season. Hope he could produce a 20-25 goals and 35-45 points in his rookie season.
