It's kind of weird but usually when people aren't playing they are no longer playing at the same level that they use to. It's almost like you need to actually be playing to maintain your previous performance...

I still say kreider at 50 percent and mika for Miller.

I also think nyr should consider something like Mika and chytil for Miller if there was interest partially due to chytils injury history. There would be obvious concerns there for Vancouver as well

It's really a moot point as I originally said, your GM gave a call and was turned down.

NO

moot, b'c LaF not offered for JTM

As I have said elsewhere,
deal is
Fox + max retained Zib + 2 2nds in 2 years
for
JTM, useful pieces Juulsen, Forbort, Raty, and 2 1sts over next 5 years
Why do you always take a bong hit just before you post on this board?

Lafreniere obviously improved from 2 seasons ago, but he's never been a threat like Mackinnon even when Mackinnon wasn't producing. Fans should stop comparing how long it too Mackinnon to find his elite game. He displayed game breking speed and talent from the get go, he just wasn't putting up the points.

With that said, it doesn't matter that Laf will never hit the prime JT Miller is in right now because at the end of the day, JT's contract and age doesn't fit the life span of this team being very short. So it doesn't make sense trading away a top 6 player that recently turned 23 and scores at a good 5 on 5 pace.
JTM didn't truly breakout until the age of 27 so Laf has time to pick things up but I agree. Tis silly to compare Laf to Mackinnon.

JTM does not fit the Rangers timeline but JTM fits Chris Drury desperately trying to save his job.

just your opinion
and I make no apologies for not capitulating to the herd, conventional wisdom, or anyone else

I substantiate what I say with detail
you want to challenge that, fine, that is competition of ideas

but your snide comment offers nothing
can you do better?

The Rangers timeline is literally now. Miller fits it perfectly. Miller is two yrs younger than Panarin and Kreider. Same age as Zibanejad, Trocheck. Do you not realize your time to win is now?

I think you’re getting a little too over the moon for your headcase locker room cancer.

My non-bust can only aspire to take time off from hockey.
Pretty sure Miller and Tocchet came to blows and the 2 alpha dogs were ready to scrap. They had to be separated. Hence they told Miller to go home

Yes how about no real team makes lunatic trades as overwrought as yours. Beyond that why does the team with Quinn Hughes send out two presumably unprotected firsts and Miller and other pieces for Fox? You think Tocchet wants another small defender? Miller and some other piece for Fox? Maybe but it will be a modest piece and it won’t spiral out of control like all your proposals do.

Don’t get me wrong it’s fun discussion but you get way out there with this stuff and it’s just fanfiction.

I’m smiling with this. I know you mean well but it’s always skewed in favor of the Rangers .

Oh paper, yes. But this team has some deep psychological flaws that are manifesting. Can they turn it around? Yes, but it's going to take something like acquiring a Mark Messier level personality to right this ship. The only name that comes to mind is Sidney Crosby but I'm fairly certain he's looking to retire a Pen. So in that light, it's a good time to sell high and get a lot of younger.

Vancouver should have traded JT in the offseason while his value was higher.
His value is somehow lower because he played injured, then needed time off to reset?

Anywho,
In a world where Alvin doesn’t immediately hang up the phone, somehow accepts an offer that isn’t an insane overpay, and goes through with this trade…. Who’s playing first line center and being hard matched to oppositions top players? Suter? Blueger? Lol

If that’s the case, then that’s a big problem and either someone is getting fired or traded.

Yeesh, relax. Coming from a Devils fan that would love for the Rangers to implode....losing streaks in November don't mean that much if you right the ship. The Rangers have too much talent and the bottom half of the division is very mediocre. They should still make the playoffs and then you never know.
It’s not just about a losing streak, it’s an underlying problem that this core is rotten and the leadership group is awful.

Trouba has become a lame duck and needs to go.

Unless there’s a Zibanejad for Miller or some sort of other franchise altering trade coming, I don’t see how this team wins.

Plus Igor’s contract demands are insane for what he is and if he stands by them, they don’t stand a chance of putting a winner together with him.

I’d rather rebuild.

vancouver’s window is hughes and demko’s current contracts so swapping jt now for laf later makes no sense for us

when hughes enters the last year of his current deal, who knows what will happen

I doubt JT Miller gets traded, but if he does this would do it for me.
100 point top six centre for a young winger with potential. If the Canucks were rebuilding, this would be an okay move. Finding another Miller to play that important centre role would be very hard.
Lafreniere is a really good player. He’s not a centre though.

a 22 yr old emerging stud who's delivered in the playoffs, signed long term at a great number, and the guy likely to get the c next or once the kreider/troch era ends....for....a 31 yr old making slightly more money for 5 more years?

i love jt miller and i hated the rangers moving him when they did, i would love to see him return...but...absolutely not with laf going the other way. he's a priority in the right price range, laf is a non-starter tho

Vancouvet says no. Alex's new contract kicks in next year and he is not worth it

Rangers are not that stupid. Give away Miller, then trade a lot more to get him back. Rangers management should all be fired if they did this. Lock this crap. Lafy is not going anywhere. He is here longterm.
