Aito Iguchi Part 2

Please bump this thread yet again in 7 years......while this kid has sick hands and skates like a figure skater, I would love to see him against some real talent......those opponents were pathetic. Anyone who has watched AAA hockey for that age group knows that. I'm impressed but only based on the hands and the fact that he comes from a non hockey market.....he wouldn't look that impressive in the gthl

:amazed:

What's a standard 1st liner's production in a league like that?

Well, here are some top British Elite League players (Great Britain First/Second Liners) and their stats at the same age:

Current Top GB Prospect, playing in Sweden J18/20 Elit

Samuel Duggan (2011-12)

So just to compare him to those:

I've watched a million 12 year olds and even 9 year olds do that between the legs spin move, while nice does not really prove much. This Japanese kid has some unbelievable hands. The stuff he was doing in his basement and outside were really really impressive for a 16 year old kid, let alone a 12 year old.

At 1:20 in the part 2 video, did anyone else see that kid stick out the knee? Ha, what a filthy player.

Wow, that's pretty cool. Is that a AAA team he's training with? And are they his age or older? because he looked pretty small out there

Haven't seen the video, but got to watch him in last 2 periods of 2003 AAA bronze game at BC Spring Classic a couple weeks ago (I believe Jon Calvano had invited him to play). Good, but would say not dominant in that particular game. No fancy moves like in some of the videos in Japan. Per the box scores it looks like he had his best game against Jr Steelers (but I couldn't see that game).

Skill and hockey smarts are incredible for an 11 year old. No 11 year old should have the smarts to pull off what he did at 1:11, where he used his opponent's momentum against him.

Unfortunately so much is dependent on size/speed/strength, which we can't even nearly accurately judge right now.
