F Adam Novotný - Mountfield HK, Czechia (Draft 2026)

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server
EP is always behind with this even now with Maddox Dagenais and Keaton Verhoeff as 2 more obvious "omissions".

Not sure EP works but I'm sure all 3 will be on soon.
I seriously suspect that the nationality of the players also plays a role in this:laugh:

I doubt it frankly.
There is no reason. There used to be a time when Czech hockey was at its peak, when Czech players were drafted just because of their nationality. They weren't better than the competition, but they were Czechs. I read interviews with several Czech hockey agents about it. Now, Czech hockey is still undervalued, so players of other nationalities are probably drafted, even if they are not better.

Apparently there is no problem. It's just probably "lost in translation". And then, thanks to the translator, I think there is some problem in communication. Unfortunately, I am from the generation that still learned russian at school..

EP is a swedish site, there is a bias towards their players. Don't think any other nation is treated differently though. Although it has gotten better, I wouldn't lose any sleep on whether a player is listed on the page. I remember when some draft class had like 4 Estonians listed few years ago...

Personally I would still be a bit reluctant to list Novotny as a top prospect, but he is on his way. If anybody, it's Katolicky that deserves the bump in my opinion.

I honestly think that after his performance at HGC, he already deserves that designation. But then again, it's true that any label doesn't define his career right now..

How has his season went? Quiet thread for a first rounder.
I imagine czech, wooren or goodman would have a better answer. But it looks like a classic Czech route. Played U18, U20 and Pro all in one season. Bottom minutes, not many points. He very well may explode at the U18 coming up. He should have a very good U20. Looks like a Kulich or Sale type path to round 1.

Now, do I think that is what is best or good? I'm not sure.... it's much more fun when they score 1.5ppg in the CHL.lol

I do think he will end up a first rounder though. Ask me again after the U18's though.lol
