Why is Wyatt Johnson in there?Jones for Seguin 1 for 1 or Seguin and Wyatt Johnson for future considerations.
Seguin is the perfect player to put on the RW of Bedard then put Tyler Bertuzzi on the left.

I was going to say...as a Sabres fan I'd be interested if the Hawks were willing to retain $2-2.5 mil and didn't expect much in return. But at that point I don't understand why they wouldn't just keep him. He's a good player, and Chicago doesn't *need* to move the contract, at least not any time soon.If you retain 2 mil maybe something could be worked out with buffalo
I mean what’s the offer in returnIf you retain 2 mil maybe something could be worked out with buffalo
To dump 9.5 mil of cap space to sign Mathews. Why is Wyatt Johnson in there?

You are the second person to say Jones would have no interest in playing for a Canadian team. I'm not sure if its ignorance or plain stupidity behind it, but his father played for the Toronto Raptors and he lived here for a few years as a kid, which he said he enjoyed. But go on.Chicago has no need to move him right now, they're a rebuilding team with tons of cap space. Then we can ask what contender has room to take on that massive contract right now? Also with all the people suggesting Canadian teams, I am willing to bet that Jones has absolutely no desire to play for a Canadian franchise.
What horrid seasons in Columbus? Sincerely. Show me stats. He was good to great in Columbus, which is why Chicago traded as much as they did to acquire him ahead of free agency.Jones’ reputation from those horrid seasons in Columbus seems to have followed him. Is her overpaid? Yes. Is he a cap dump? No.

And to be fair, chicago has no cap issues and needs to reach the floor, they may as well keep him as they are rebuilding because it doesn't 'hurt' them. Trading would cost them futures so why botherIt would be far too expensive for Chicago to move him now.
In a few years the cap will be much higher and it will be easier to move him.
Also, maybe consider trying to pair him with a good PMD like he had in Columbus to try to maximize him and maybe it turns out you should just keep him.

I was thinking maybe a 2nd and one of our b prospects getting rid of 7.5 would be pretty good no retention and your probably giving a 2ndI mean what’s the offer in return
Agreed. The much more insightful method is for everyone to watch the games and come to their own, expert opinions. Way fewer assumptions and subjectivity. Can't just stare at analytics in this sport. There isn't enough controlled stop starts to have true meaningful numbers. You can use analytics but when I read how people get their numbers and what goes into their stat, it takes so many assumptions it becomes.. less meaningful. This isn't baseball.
Is this your rebuttal to the statistics you asked for?lol jfresh. OK.
This is the correct opinion. Unfortunately, we’re going to see his name dragged onto these forums each year with posters coming to the same logical conclusion… he’s not tradeable without Chicago giving up valuable resources that wouldn’t make sense for them to do.Doesn't make sense to explore trade options for him at this point in time. Hawks will need to take on some bad contracts or give out some overpaid short term deals during FA to hit the cap floor. Why would they pay to offload one and then take on more?
This is the type of deal you explore 3-4 years down the road when the kids you've been drafting are coming into their own and might have to pay one or two of them and you want to compliment them with chasing some big name free agents to start preparing for a cup run. And at that point the cap should be higher, there will be much less term left on his contract, etc...
The statistics are always deeply, inherently flawed when they don't make a player on my favorite team look like a superstar. Is this your rebuttal to the statistics you asked for?
Cap space + top pairing RHD? Maybe I'm not completely up to speed on Jones' value...Where's the value for the Leafs?
