Karlsson carrying out an offensive raid! Already tired of his new defensive hard-hitting playstyle?

*lol* behind your back passes is never a good idea.

It's actually a great idea, a big reason for the canucks dominant PP in 2011 was the back pass on the PP, gaining the zone.

Everybody copied it after that.

Sweden looks sluggish and disinterested so far. Sedin line gets some pressure, but otherwise a bad period.

Not impressed with either team in the first period. I expect a lot of more of everyone not on the Sedin line in Sweden.

Ok, it fcan be good when it works but when the guy you pass it to has his back turned towards you and is on the way off the ice while a player on the other teams comes up between you then it's a bad idea.

Can we please sit the sedins and Eriksson so they don't get injured

Then he didn't even try to get back to help out, but instead went for a change...:help:

Pretty even first period, which isn't anything to cheer for if you're Sweden. Europe is the worst team in this tournament and if we're not clearly better than them, we're going "home" efter three games.

One out of four lines are working, that's wonderful.:speechles

He did it pretty much on his own blue line, while the unit went for a change. Not a good play.

Oh boy. Seems like I'm the only guy awake, did that boring first period send ya'll running for the beds? ;)

Here go for the 2nd, let's hope Sweden can pick it up and learned something becuase we need to see much more from everyone.

Just like I said in the Finland GDT; the 'good game' by the Bäckström line was incidental, meaning that the few good plays it did create happened to pay off. They weren't actually good and they haven't been good so far in this game either. Contrast this with the much better Sedin line which scored two goals because it created so many good plays that it could afford to not score on most of them.

I hope this changes quickly so the Sedin line doesn't have to carry this team. I would rather see the Bäckström line take charge and go scoreless here than be invisible and score some happenstance goals, because the former would promise more for the tournament.

Now watch us waste this PP doing nothing, seem where we're heading tonight.
