How many Finnish players of only 18 years old, have ever been on a "best possible" national team roster?

Were Selänne or Koivu?

No. But 4yr gaps don't help. Reijo Ruotsalainen for example had been in 3 WC contents from 18-21 before his first Canada Cup. Kurri had 1 or 2 less. So its an unfair comparison, WC is best as that is every year

Okay. But were Selänne and Koivu good enough to crack the best Finnish roster, when they were 18?

What I'm saying is, you are way too hard on Lauine. He's still a kid.

We must have very different concepts/definitions of the word "flashy".

I'm curious, how many games with Ottawa did you see last season?

Karlsson wasn't worth anything above a 2/5 in the second game against Finland. Made very little happen 5 vs 5 and made some half-assed plays in his own zone, losing races for pucks etc.

I have no idea how anyone could give him a grade of 4/5.

I didnt count, but a lot of games, more then enough to get a good view of his game.

For me flashy is something out of the ordinaire some highlight worthy stuff. That I see very little of from Karlsson, what I see is constantly good plays, just like in the last game. That was a average game for Karlsson, and easily a 4 out of 5 if not 5 out of 5, unless you have much higher demands just because it is Karlsson.

As I said, even in that highlight video from his entire season, they have more simple/good plays then flashy stuff. For example 0:22, is that really flashy? If that is flashy, what is not flashy? You could easily fill a highlight video of those types of play from Karlsson just from his last game against finland.

Ai swer to god with Good refs Finland win with 10-2 and laine scores 7. Alwais the refs when Sweden win.

lol

But seriously, with different refs next time it's a totally different game too. I expect more physical game and much less penalties. Should be advantage to Finns who were terrible with special plays but played good 5vs5.
