Sure thing, but I mean this still got surprisingly physical and entertaining for an exhibition/rehearsal game. :)

It's only going to ramp up from here. I love it, I know you guys do too. If anyone questioned how intense this tournament will be, I think you're starting to get your answers.

This will be the best hockey tournament played to date. Can't wait, plus it's hockey in September :yo:.

Well, I don't think it's "hate", I think it's "dislike"... But it is often nice to have bit heated discussions between the two sets of fans, senseless trolling aside or cheering for injuries etc. etc. And I think these genuinely unpleasant things have gotten very rare which is an excellent thing.

Thats why air quotes :)
but i do understand your point :) and i agree.

The start of the game was a real sleepy game, but it become better and better. Good to get practice with a biased ref it will be more of that in the wc for sure.

Bad: Ekholm, Bäckström line. Invisible, I think it is to slow, I would put Hagelin or Rakell there, to give it to some energy. Importent that line works

Best: Hagelin, Landeskog, Sedins, Rakell

Those that do not think zetterberg is a big loss just because his production wasnt that great last season, can look at the sedins. They had the similar season. This old guys may have problem keeping up the level the whole season, but in a tournament like this is a different matter. Zetterberg is a huge loss. Steen is not.

Nice to see also that Strålman wasnt as horrible as in the playoffs, but the commentators where way to nice to him, he was ok but not that good. Best d-men was Karlsson even if it wasnt his best game. Hjalmarsson was pretty good too.

I think it's kind of unfair to the Bäckström-line seeing as they got by far the most defensive zone-starts in the game(only line that got it) while the Sedins started every shift in the OZ/NZ. I think this is a bit of really strange coaching from Grönborg and I personally would've like to see it more balanced between those two lines.

Sweden had the better of the play but Barkov was the best individual. He's just so ****in good.

If you define "better" as "wins" then of course the better team always wins.

It becomes a tautology - it's just saying the team that scored the most scored the most - it becomes a toally meaningless statement :)

There is nothing wrong with a tautology but there is nothing interesting with it either :)

I don't know about interesting but it's the only objective metre that we have. To speak about "being better" that is somehow independent of the score will just get us into very subjective discussions with no universally agreed definition. And I would say this also when my team loses - maybe it's not an interesting point of view, but it kind of focuses one's thinking rather usefully and cuts moping and what-iffing to minimum.

He truly is the kind of player who just wins games. Everything he does is directly geared towards winning the game, I don't think he cares one bit if he gets points but he will do what ever is needed to win. Every moment of the game. He tries to win every single exchange and advance the play so his team could score more than the opponent.

nice to see Mats Wennerholm to call out Grönborg for the goalie situation.

I think every player in this game try and play to win :)

Pretty pleased with what I've seen so far. Obviously Finland won't be a problem when we move up to tournament tempo and don't play our third goalie who lets in 3 goals on 13 shots.

Would like to see some more speed on the Bäckström line since it didn't show much today. Easily fixed by replacing Hörnqvist with Hagelin for the next training game.

I don't think it's even dislike. It doesn't run any deeper than these hockey tournaments. (When you look at all the cultural, defense, economic co-op etc. that our two countries do on a regular basis.) I'd just call it good old rivalry. Completely agree with the rest.

BÅG at least won the olympics, and he won with his senior team before he become national coach. What has Grönborg done?

Grönborg has done the amazing feat of losing all his finals that he played. 4 or 5 U18 finals plus 1 or 2 U21 finals lol.

He truly deserves to be called "android" and what not. He just makes the right play all the time, like a computer. It's even more absurd when you think of his skill-level - it's very rare for players with his kind of hands to play that way. Usually there's always some extra moves... but none of that with Sasha

Would you not prefer Steen over Hörnqvist?

Yes, but i wouldnt have Hörnqvist on the team from the start. rakell that replaced him is a player we need more than steen. Steen was also medicore in the olympics and then he was red hot in NHL.

we got a gold out of BÅG atleast. BÅG also played 18 year old Backstrom and OEL on team sweden. Grönborg will never play a teenager because he thinks veterans are always superior.

Grönborg has also never won anything, the man is even worse then mårts when it comes to be 2nd in tournaments.
You're just mad because sweden lost a game (a pointless one at that) do I think there are better options than Grönborg? Sure but he has never singlehandedly embarrassed sweden like BÅG did in 2010.

Can you imagine that Grönborg has never head coached grown-ups before this tournament?

Wow never actually thought about that.

You got to love Barkovs game, awesome player.
And for the Backstrom line, Hornqvist don't feel like a good fit. I would try Rakell there instead.

Roger Rönnberg is easily the better option. Grönbiorg also admits he refuses to "coach" when the game is on the line.

Oh, I absolutely meant it only in hockey context - Sweden is truly an exceedingly nice country and in many respects very similar to Finland.

You guys played better today but you just know Finland always finds a way to be a problem. :naughty:

Enroth was a surprising choice for the third goalie in the roster. Apparently a bigger gap there than in e.g. Finland's goalie trio. Not that the third guy should matter any, unless really extraordinary injuries happen, so who cares.

Sweden was the better team and also got a good goal disallowed. But hey, you "won" if it make you feel better. I take the losses now and win in the real game instead.

Sorry to disappoint but Finland will take these 3 games 3-0. Almost as good as advancing from the World Cup group stage if that happens.

What you whined about when it came to grönborg was primarily player selections where I can guarantee you that no one has ever Done a worse job than BÅG in 2010 where he put ****ing weinhandl with the prime twins and refused to switch stuff up when it didn't click. Agree on Rönnberg though (or Hallam)
