You can make a good argument that virtanen has played better and been more noticable than ritchie so far...

You could also make the argument that it's still exhibition play. Right now, I think Ritchie is just trying to avoid hurting the team. It's not like he isn't known for occasionally setting cruise control until he wants to turn it up.

People are far too dismissive of Ritchie's talent. He isn't a 4th line scrub. Wait until the games matter. If he doesn't step up his play, then I imagine the coach will shift things around.

Anyone bashing Gauthier for those missed chances just have an agenda. They all pressure the puck carrier so well and create a ton of turnovers, spending pretty much all of their shifts in the offensive zone or just clogged up in the neutral zone, which is perfect for a 4th line. They'll generate some good scoring chances as well from their tenacious play.

This is nonsense analysis. Gauthier is just not fast or smart enough to play at this level, he's a liability every shift. He will be getting less and less minutes as the tourney goes on.

Skates well for a player his size is actually the sxouting report on him. And you can tell his footspeed and agility aren't matching up
