Eh, people thought Matthews shooting 2 feet over the net from the slot in the last game had a direct impact on a goal.

It really depends on who you're cheering for in this tournament.

Matthews has a power forward element to his game that would work. McDavid plays best with power forwards who open up time and space for him.

Sure, but I think he has a chance to be right there with MCD and look at the guy play.

I don't see yet what Mcd has over the guy aside from speed, and gaudreau is no slouch there either.

Some of the things Gaudreau does are magical.
 
I feel like if you're going to be the best player you have to be able to at least play with anyone to a degree.

It wouldn't work. McDavid, Eichel, Matthews, and JG need the puck. I just don't see it working. However, both Matthews and Eichel have fantastic shots, so maybe. Who knows. I am just enjoying hockey.

I mean, I think Crosby is still the best player but he's had trouble playing with some guys in short tournaments like this.

Then you should wait until we're at least halfway into the NHL season at a minimum. This is two games. Two exhibition games. No one is denying that Gaudreau is a fantastic player. I'd still take McDavid over him moving forward, and I'm not a fan of either of the teams.
