His last name is Nyberg.
Thanks. Had to go tune up some small engines (snowblower, leaf blower, chainsaw), didn't have time to look it up.

Bet his last name is Ericsson or Lilja. :sarcasm:
Looks more like Bowey TBH, can't decide if he wants to chase the puck or not. He goes chasing #11 up the left side then does nothing when Johansson skate by with the puck. Pretty funny.

BTW, he's a Jim Nill draft pick, which makes it even funnier.

You see highlights of AJ in the offensive zone and it's like 'yeah ok', but when you see some highlights of his work in the defensive zone it validates it all. Kind of vibe I used to get from Sandin in SSM. Wish I could see his games.

Yup Gus Nyquist did the exact same thing to Jared Spurgeon awhile back, And received a 6 game suspension for the exact same thing.
I don't think you know what exact is.

One was a crosscheck to the face while skating through traffic, one was a blatant spear to the face on the boards in a retaliatory action.

Yep he's pretty good defensively. Much better imo than for example Broberg or Nils Lundkvist. I see him as a good bet to be a ~30 point, 2nd pairing D in the NHL.

Some Håkan Andersson quotes of 2019 draft Europeans (mostly Swedes).

Albin Grewe - Of European players (Håkan does not know all the north-americans), "probably the most competitive player player in whole draft" (when compared to Marchand by Helene St. James).

Albert Johansson - "he could be the best of them all - another scout said. I kind of agree". Also said about he could grow, because Johansson's father is 6'3 and two elder brothers too. Dominated in juniors. Same like Hronek, but more passing in his game than Hronek, lesser shot than Hronek.

Frist 25 seconds of the interview is about Tuomisto. Last 1,5min about Seider.

Saw there was something mentioned about a possible Nicklas Lidström -trade to Rangers at Håkan Andersson's book. Don't know waht year this was speculated, but I's expect it was at early 90's when Neil Smith was Rangers GM.

Does anyone know anything about this? I remember Red Wings were heavily after Brian Leetch for at least a decade, would that be the style of the trade? Kid for a proven vet?

I don't know why Hakan would be involved. He was hired in 1990, Lidstrom was drafted in 1989. The scouts involved were Rockstrom and Neil Smith. The story:

What do The Dolan family still own besides Cablevision? ...just MSG or part of the Rangers too?

Fun fact: In the 70's & early 80's I went to school where the Dolan's adopted daughter was a new teacher, very sweet young lady from Viet Nam. My mom taught there as well & they became good friends. As did the Dolan's with my parents.

I like the part about Neil wanting to draft Nemchinov in the '89 5th....already the greatest draft of all-time, (probably any sport/league). Sillinger, Boughner, Lidstrom, Feds, <Nemchinov>, D.Drake, Konstantinov. Hory Sheet! +8 who didn't make it (if you take out Nemchinov).

Why wouldn't he be involved? Trade negotiations happened on later years if there was some. Quite sure GMs will ask scouts opinions for trade scenarios.

Pffft. If not for some bad info given to them by the league, they would've had Pavel Bure as well. Think about that for a minute.

When Gretzky and Bure Were Both Red Wings…

Yep, I'm aware. We wanted Edler too, though Franzen was a decent conosolation prize. Imagine having Edler & Kronwall (after Lids/Rafalski/Stuart) leave/retire. Though we probably don't trade for Stuart if we had Edler. We'd have likely won 1-2 more cups (07 and or 09). Maybe even beat CHI '13 & win another, or at least rob them of a cup.

They sold Cablevision a while back, but MSGS was spun off from Cablevision before the sale.

Google is your friend:
Madison Square Garden Sports - Wikipedia

MSGS is a publicly traded company (Ticker: MSGS), but the Dolans own 21.6% of the shares and 71.1% of the voting shares so the kid (James) runs the company.
