What?

If you would have mentioned the Guentzel to Vancouver deals, you'd have a point. I don't remember anything about Miller to the Penguins at least in the past few years. Miller to Pittsburgh hasn't been talked about in years from what I remember, mostly because the Penguins have become a bad team in the past few years.
I wouldn't trade Zucker for Miller period tbh

Pepperidge farm remembers. ;)

This is how i see Miller's production vs age playing out;

On a functional team, playing with a star winger, Jt. Miller's good for 100 pts next year at 33 years old.
I'd say you're going to get like two 70-80 PPG seasons out of him after that (34, 35 yrs old)
then maybe you're going to see a 55 point season at 36 yrs old.
then probably a big drop off with some 3rd line type production for a year.
Then it'll be the last year of his deal and he'll be a buyout

in a cap rising environment, i think you're getting 3 years of GREAT value, 1 year of fair value then you're underwater.

I guess I just completely blacked out the Ron Hextall era because I genuinely had no clue what the other guy was talking about

I don't remember the context of that time, but seeing the posts of "This should be a future considerations type deal with cap going back to get your asses out of that contract" on that thread makes me feel like Miller's value wasn't all that great at that time. Similar with how Canucks fans were talking about him at the time, I genuinely do not recall why Miller's value was viewed as badly as it was in that thread, Canucks fans were good with like McGinn, Blomqvist and a 1st for Miller in that thread.

Yea it was probably the lowest value Miller has been in a long time. Last season and playoffs went a long way in improving Miller’s value, at least on HF. Goes to show how shortsighted our views of players can be and most GM’s aren’t like that. We often see trades that are wildly different than what is considered “fair value” here.

Non Canes/Nucks fans input only please...

Pettersson (11m) + ?

For

Necas (6.5m) + Kotkaniemi (4.8m) ?
Would just like to note that I don't think the Canucks could do this even if other fan bases deem the value to be fair, as Necas will be a UFA after next season. Contractually wouldn't make sense to take on that risk.

Why would you ask for non-Canucks fans or Carolina opinions on a trade offer that looks like a form of parody

Trying to ignore my Canes bias…

Necas + Kotkaniemi + for Pettersson made a ton more sense last year, before Necas was signed to a deal that leads him to UFA in a season and a half. Those two are still the most logical pieces in any such deal, but the question will always come down to the rest of the package and whether or not the Canes think that is fair. As much as I would not want the Canes to deal Morrow, seems like his inclusion in such a deal would be necessary. I’m making the assumption that Nikishin and Jarvis/Svechnikov are not pieces the Canes would part with. Any other prospect and/or the 2025 1st is very likely fair game.

From a Canucks perspective, I get that Pettersson has trade protection coming up, but I’d be very hesitant to deal him. I’d be surprised if they actually did.

I have a feeling due to EP being the more valuable player and younger player that he is more likely to go. But if I were to make a prediction I think both get traded. I just think the Canucks are fed up with the drama, they were close to moving EP last season so this isn’t new. JT Miller looks disengaged and again with the drama… seems like Vancouver management are done with both of them

Disengaged players usually don’t have highly dominant 4 points games

One game bro it was one game. How was he playing last week? That’s what I thought. Quite fitting he starts giving a shit when he realizes his value absolutely sucks right now so if he wants a trade to NYR he better start producing.

8 points in his last 5 games. Sorry bro

Let’s go further, 13 point in his last 12 games.

Bro, he has like eight points in the last four or five games.

Not to mention the game winner in the shootout.

He has a couple of bad games and people like to talk shit, he’s not having the best season, but him not having the best season is still better than most players in the league

Miller is legit, the only reason there are trade rumours is because of the alleged rift.

There’s nothing to complain about for his on ice work
