Easily Miller. Anyone saying any different is being duped. Miller seems to play a tough as nails game at times, and hes a good player but he's almost 32 and full of worts himself. Petey when he was on his game is the better and more complete player. And he's 26. Trading that away would be a disaster. Don't see why you'd trade both, can't go rebuild with an MVP level player in Hughes on the team and a great goalie if he can get healthy.

Miller is a bit older but I do agree, he brings it shift after shift. He's got the better contract and EP should return more as well. Young center who has a great shot and is a proven 80-100 pts guy. Some character issues with being complacent at times but you can't deny the skill/talent.

I can't believe the amount of noise, and trade talk around this Miller/Pettersson issue. Miller and Pettersson have both denied that this relationship is an issue. Seems it is a media creation.

I don't think it's 100% a media issue. The media is creating a shit storm yes but the smoke came first. Boudreau is on record saying there was an issue between the two. How much of an issue? That's where the media and fans can spin it.

Everyone is okay with a douche, like Mackinnon, if they're winning

When you're a winner, and you are the gold standard as far as compete goes, you can be a dick. See: Jordan, Michael

The same does not apply when you don't play defence and show emotional volatility when things don't go your way, all the while ripping your teammates a new asshole for doing the same things you are doing.

If someone has been out of the country for a few months is there any way someone can accurately summarize why Miller and Petterson are feuding to such a degree that one of them needs to be traded?

Seems like Miller has gotten on everyones case's over the years, but this is the first time that a player seemingly cannot be his teammate. Is Petterson that soft? Did something else happen like Miller slept with his girlfriend?

Teammates argue all the time,. What in the heck happened that we've reached Defcon 2 between this 2 specifically?

A few years back, the Habs traded Subban out of nowhere. Then we come to find out later there was an issue between Gallagher/Patch with Subban. We have to remember that this is a team game and when you have distractions that last more than a year, it becomes something managers need to act on.

My gut tells me it's due to Pettersson's complacent style at times and the contract he got does not look good to the eyes of someone like Miller who brings it shift after shift. That's my guess anyways

Fast forward to today and Pettersson's situation seems similar to Subban's... a looming NMC that kicks in July. Canucks either have to find a way for both players to live with each other or trade one of them. Miller already has the NMC and is more consistent with the better contract. Canucks might end up a better team if they can get the right return for Pettersson

It blows my mind why any Vancouver fan would want to hitch their wagon to a guy this mentally fragile who makes $12m. Like ya'll seriously think he's gunna lead you to a cup?

Im guessing here but something happened physically , Miller crossed a line and the team forced him to take a "personal leave"

Yep. JT’s attitude is only tolerated while the team is winning and more importantly when he’s contributing to that success. So far this season he’s been awful.

Miller won’t. Everything hinges on Quinn regardless.

Nor should it tbh. Miller is the type you win with

Miller at $8m takes yall a helluva lot further than EP at $12m ever will

Youve never watched Miller or have fallen under the same delusion that he is some sort of Jarome Iginla warrior, balls to the wall type of player.

Miller is often one of the laziest and checked out players on the Canucks. A player who brings it shift after shift is most certainly not how I would describe Miller and Ive seen every game Miller has played for the Canucks.

Not sure I agree with that but I'll let others chime in. I have not watched every Canucks game but What happens if other Canuck fans don't agree with you? Who do I believe? From what I have seen, Miller is way more consistent and shows up

If I'm Vancouver, I'm trying to trade them both. JT Miller is too combustible and that contract of his won't age well.

EP is too stoic and easy going. EPs big swings in play/production are way too significant for a 1C making $12MM.

Build a team around Quinn Hughes.

The Miller we’ve witnessed this season that’s only getting older? Pettersson scored at nearly 2PPG pace while Miller was out. Why? Quinn Hughes.

I’d honestly be looking at moving both, but Miller first.

This is gold coming from a leafs fan lol
EP would fit right in with the loser overpaid 4

Miller was a top 3 player in the league in the playoffs 6 months ago. EP hasn't been worth $12m since what.. covid?

I can understand trading both tbh

The Core is:

Hughes
Pettersson
Hronek
Willander
Lekkerimaki

Build around those players.

Demko, Miller, Boeser, Garland + prospects etc are all very valuable pieces but I'd move any of them in order to build a Stanley Cup team supporting the core's window and makeup as a team.

Demko, Miller and Boeser are aging leftover Benning players. I wouldn't be shocked if they're all moved by the summer.

Willander and Lekkermaki are your next generation coming up, but they need a lot more to retool.

Nobody is saying that, and you act as if you were in the trenches with them instead of buying your first house on a single income for a dozen raspberries.

The one that didn't get enough attention was this last playoff run where he verbally berated Joshua for not getting the puck in deep.

Miller is not a coach. He has no right to take it upon himself to police his teammates. Someone should have stepped in to tell him to shut the f*** up.

Looks like it really affected him or maybe it's his injuries? He was great last season.

I can actually see the Kings having interest in Pettersson. Hopefully Blake makes another trade for a center.
Gross, I'd go for Miller for one last kick at the can with Kopitar and Doughty.

They unfortunately missed the boat on Eichel which was a horrible mistake

Miller played with Boeser and Q Hughes pairing.

Pettersson was with Mikhayev and Hoglander lol.

Go take a look at what Miller was doing at the same age as Pettersson. Pettersson hasnt even scracthed the surface of what he can do on the ice. First thing first is to get over these injuries tho, then learn to play playoff hockey.

Its not the same, but Pettersson was able to elevate his game when SHL playoffs came around and he led Vaxjo to an SHL championship and was named playoff MVP as a teenager. He has it in him.

The truth is Miller doesn't bring it every shift. Sure he's willing play physically a lot but often he is just floating, undisciplined and lazy.
