Positive, I’m up and coffee is great!

Unfortunately the mysterious third option of evolving into a parallel universe overnight that draws all things Canucks, Leafs, Canadiens, and Avs into the void making this place tolerable for everyone else didn’t happen. Sorry all!

To turn this topical, Miller is someone you win with. If you have a strong room vested in just that, he is not a problem. Petterson is a non-serious player. He’d fit in well with what the Hawks are trying to do IMO. Trade both so we can go back to important things like hearing about what will happen to something called Nils Hoglander.
BAHAHAHAHA. Incredible.

You can't win with him because as soon as there's any adversity, he actively makes it worse by completely ending any on-ice effort (there's gotta be a a sizzle reel out there of JT's "controller disconnected" moments") and throwing temper tantrums on ice and on the bench.

The Canucks trading Eichel is 1:1 analogous to Buffalo trading Eichel. If they do it, they will lose the trade hilariously and continue to circle the drain. The other trade party will have pulled off a coup.

That’s literally the dumbest tweet in history masked as a rumor

Hey listen guys, one could be traded or neither could be

Wow groundbreaking

Exactly. "Hey, I listed every option, so stay tuned, as one could happen."

They haven't liked each other for a long time. There are rumours about that going back years.

It flared up because Miller's conduct was obviously to such a degree the team basically told him to sit at home for a month and think about what he's done (he was out for about a month on a "leave of absence").

Now more stories (notably from former Vancouver teammate Brad Richardson) are coming out about how Miller is a hard teammate and has been particularly hard on Pettersson.
I don't understand what prevents Pettersson from telling him to f*** off though. If you let them bully you - they sure will

Aren’t these two adults? Can’t they just play them on seperate lines and PPs? Can they not just co-exist from opposites sites of the locker room and only play together when the net is empty? Like what could of possibly happened between them that’s so bad.

Heres two potential trades to New York teams:

1)

To NYRangers: Pettersson, Silovs, Hoglander, Desharnais, 2028 6th round pick

To Vancouver: Cuyyle, Schneider, Lafreneire, 2025 1st, 2026 3rd, 2027 5th

2)

To NYIslanders: Miller, Hoglander, Kunz

To Vancouver: Dobson, Barzal, 2025 1st, 2026 2nd, 2026 4th
That is comical. Petterson better be at 75% retained.

Patrik Laine missed the 2 previous games due to "flu" and due to "fatigue". Guess who Montreal is playing next? Thats right, Vancouver. I can bet my buttocks that Patty is sitting out that one too, lets say due to "therapy day".

Meaning: they didnt want to make it too obvious that he is sitting out the Vancouver-game due to being later traded there.

So what type of deal are we looking at here? Im guessing something like J.T. Miller for Laine and a 2nd.

OR it involves the other absentee, Mr. Pettersson. In which case we are looking at something in the ballpark of Pettersson for Laine, Dach + 1st

Friedman is simply describing quantum mechanics in hockey terms. Miller and Pettersson are in a superposition within Schrödinger’s Trade Block.

You cant deny the appeal of this:

Montreal getting Demidov next year gives them:

Demidov - Pettersson - Newhook
Caufield - Suzuki - Slafkovsky

Now tell me that both sides wouldnt be happy. Ofc Laine is risky and Pettersson has his huge cap hit but no deal is without any risks.

Buffalo can beat that garbage offer.

Wait never mind, this might be the worst trade proposal I have ever seen.

Miller for a cap dump and a 2nd? LOL
Yea I agree, the other suggested trade benefits both sides much better. Although can you imagine the destruction a duo like Pettersson+Laine could potentially inflict?

Buffalo can beat that garbage offer.
I wouldnt be so sure, but is there a suggestion already here? Lets take a look at it!

You wouldn't be so sure? Why is that?

Laine doesn't hold much value.

Mainly because I have not seen the offer from Buffalo ☹️

And as for Laine's value, idk I agree he is a bit of a Kinder-egg, but getting the chance of putting together a trio like Laine-Dach-Garland is imo worth it. Lets say both Laine and Dach are extended with close to their current cap hits and fully recovered. Vancouver would be looking at their deepest playoffs run in years with that + the rest of the team they have (though I am sadly very poorly informed regarding the contract situation of the bottom 6 + the defence).

And I know beating their conference semi-final runs of 2020 and 2024 sound like hard to beat but to me it just tells about the potential of this team.

Wait.. Boeser is UFA this summer? Garland the summer after? Ok I had not realized those.. cap may become an issue for Vancouver then? Unless they can sign Boeser for 1 year (if both have that interest) and go all in next season with the team.

Cbj, anah, Carolina, Buffalo, bos, nyr are the main teams that come to mind.

Anah, cbj have the prospects to make a pettersson trade work

Carolina, Buffalo probably have a combination that could work for pettersson or miller

Bos, nyr can make something work for Miller.

I don't think they will trade pettersson I think Alvin just mentioned it and is creating noise to scare those interested in jt miller because of the nmc and miller controlling where he wants to go which could lower the value

Montreal would have to trade Suzuki to get Miller or Petterson. If Vancouver traded either one for Laine, The organization should fold and become another pizza stand downtown Vancouver.
