Watching the news and the massive lines in York ahead of lockdown

it’s such a joke hahahaha
Covids exploding for sure

I have a couple friends who are teachers in Toronto and the majority of students have been pulled out to self isolate for two weeks for Christmas with the family

so the government has destroyed small businesses and achieved nothing

Wha's funny ?

My grandfather just died of Covid

my condolences... thems the breaks of life

I wish I had a grandfather that could have been around the last few years

I only have 5 original family members alive counting my sister's daughter

Let's rejoice, there's a new way of dying in town!

The fact that a lot of people going to kill some of their family during christmas is not very funny. You have no soul.

No parents, no siblings, no grandparents?

Ok so if people died around you, is it a reason to become so insensitive to other people dying and suffering? Is it some kind of vengeance?

younger brother... everyone else has died

Through pain you should have developped a lot of compassion and empathy. Have you missed the boat?

Trust me, nobody is looking out for me... Ive had to deal with everything myself
It is what it is

people die and one day I’ll be up next

Is it an excuse to be that careless about people suffering and dying? I had to live on my own at 16 y/o. I still did a lot of voluntary work to help others. I guess I'm weird

John Tory said lockdowns are not having an impact and cellphone data shows mobility is only down 1%

So you tell me

They need to be STRICT lockdowns. Have the military patrolling the streets, caging anyone for 3 weeks that unnecessarily socializing.

Hmmm

For nearly three weeks, York Region avoided the “grey zone” lockdowns implemented in neighbouring Toronto and Peel on Nov. 23. The province announced Friday that York will lock down as of Monday. But many experts worried that during that gap, residents in more-restricted regions would hop the border to shop and eat.

Their fears were well founded, Environics data suggests. Three popular shopping centres — Vaughan Mills Mall, Hillcrest Mall, and Upper Canada Mall — saw a surge of visitors from Peel and Toronto in the week post-lockdown.

Compared to the week prior, the number of Toronto residents visiting these centres doubled, with more than 39,000 Torontonians descending on the three malls in the span of a week. From Peel, the number of people who travelled to the York Region malls also nearly doubled: another 15,000.

How would I tell you what you're trying to say???

Are you saying that lockdowns don't work in areas that aren't locked down? Or do you have no idea what it is you're trying to say?

Peel, Windsor, Toronto, Hamilton, Durham, York, Eastern Ontario and Halton need a hard shutdown. That includes schools and most workplaces.

Ontario could use checkpoints to separate the GTA from the rest of the province like what Quebec did with their regions.

John Tory said they don’t have the police force to restrict movement
The above is not possible

All those regional police forces + the OPP wouldn’t be enough?
I find that hard to believe.
Does Quebec really have more police per capita than Ontario?
