Sbisa + 3rd.

Buy low sell high.

Canucks need a Top 6 LW'er and Kane is that guy. No guts no glory. You take a flier on Kane, and you keep the leash short. If he screws up one time, you get rid of him. Period. Buy him out, suck it up in terms of cap, and move forward.

On the flip side of all this however, the potential ROI is enormous. Kane loves Vancouver and would be happy here. The Canucks also have enough veteran leaders to ensure that he stays on the right track.

He's also going to be around all of his friends from his hometown. Think that will help him? I sure don't. The roxy is only a short drive away.

I'm not going to speculate on any drug or alcohol abuse he may have, but he does have one thing, a large ego. Has ever since he was a kid and many people around the Vancouver area know this.

Well he's also going to be around his supportive family, they are the most helpful during a difficult time, I myself got over alcohol problems here in Vancouver with all my buds here, and they were supportive of me quitting, but the most important thing was having the support of my family.

He's had more than a few rock bottoms now, something has to give.

As for ego etc. you'd think with the fiasco and fallout with the jets and sabres and aging a bit, you would assume if he came here it would his last chance to get it going, it's the Patriots style, buy low with possible high reward, if he can get smacked around by the vets here and family etc.

For all his problems, the price to acquire him should be lowered.

With the way Kane turned out, why are we assuming that his parents could turn him around? Doesn't seem like they did that great of a job in the first place.

I also disagree with the "rock bottom" statement. It's only rock bottom if you recognize it. Otherwise you can keep on falling. A kid with a few million in the bank and probably quite a number of people still willing to hand out second chances, I would wager even if he got traded for peanuts, it wouldn't teach him anything.

Rock bottom for Kane is probably a last chance 1 year deal, then a trip to Europe, finally followed by a failed comeback attempt.

When he was in Winnipeg and it started coming out that besides his fiance he might have a good number of girls on the side, he tweeted (paraphrasing) "Ray Charles to the BS." Seems to me like any sort of criticism is BS to EK.

Really no need for the bolded at all... I think he could turn it around in Van. If he was traded for peanuts, I'm sure it would hurt his ego and I'm sure he would be smart enough to comprehend that it would be his last shot if the organization made it clear that it was.

Will fix everything
Kane + 2nd

for

Juolevi + 1st

Deal accepted, no take backs

Seriously though, Kane's value is near an all time low.

At the time of Winnipeg, most people felt he'd do much better in a different market and felt like the Winnipeg media tried to run him out of town. The last year has shown than Evander has some serious judgement issues, irregardless of market. Buffalo would probably take a decent prospect for him at this point. I think there's a decent chance he's bought out once the second buyout window opens.

Maybe they could find a way to voidhis contract "Richards style".

I think Buff holds on to him for a bit yet so he can raise his stock again. If he has a decent start to the year and stays outve trouble, then TM will be able to get more for him say next summer perhaps.

On a serious note

Is Kane + for Tanev a reasonable basis of a trade.

If I'm the Canucks I don't move Tanev for Kane.
Kane needs maturity and damage control at the moment. This is Buffalo dealing from a position of weakness at the moment.

I wouldn't offer more than than Columbus's 2nd round pick (2017 or 2018), but he would also have to agree to having a minder /chaperone, a curfew, donate a bunch of his $$ to charities that support vulnerable women and take some counselling or courses to help him deal with his demons.

heck
Sbisa straight up, maybe we throw in Dorsett as well or Buffalo retains some salary. I will roll on the floor laughing if any team gives up a good asset for him right now.

How does Columbus fit him under the salary cap?
