Me too, Edmonton is just so easy to hate. Kane is the least likable player in the league by a mile. He's so bad now that when I see him KO Matt Cooke from back in the day, I have started to feel bad for Matt-freaking-Cooke.

Only a man blinded by unrestrained homerism could consider these two incidents remotely close to being the same. One deserves a minor penalty, the other is a criminal intent to injure and would, if the NHL wasn't such a crappy league selling hate and violence, result in a lengthy suspension.

The Kane crosscheck looks vicious but the angle from behind shows he barely touched him. It's a 2 min penalty and that's it. The DOPS is a joke and action/inaction from them shouldn't be indicative of how serious an incident is, but this won't even be a fine.

There are some differences in these 2. Howdens stick started far down the players back, rode up and pushed his neck. Kane went at the head directly with intent.

2.) I don’t recall the play, but if he did then he should have been suspended.

It’s a very stupid penalty and he went high with purpose but it won’t be a suspension as the first contact was on top of Pietro’s shoulder and it rode higher, instead of direct head contact.

Looked more like Pietrangelo saw that Kane was coming for him and flicked the puck as a deterrent. Of course Kane skated through that and targeted the head. So AP knew what was coming.
No harm done.
