Sometimes it might be nice to be a leaf fan. These awful, unfair threads get locked down pronto. Like the Knies one. Of course, one doesn’t get to know what leaf fan locks which threads down.
Oh, the horror.

4 posts. Perhaps a record?

So you mean to tell me he's not actually a changed man? Did sportsnet or the athletic or whatever rag that put out that fluff piece lie to us???
Yes, hitting a player in the shoulder with his big, bad, heavy stick is outrageous.

I'd ask the same from you, you seem to be the most offended person in this thread.
No. I think it’s all good.
Some kids are frightened by a stick to a shoulder.
Scary, I agree.
But I think everyone’s going to be ok. Pietrangelo has strong shoulders.

I’ll accept that Kane has grown as a person, but that was a hella dumb play. Can’t believe some are just sarcastically laughing it off- dude charges into a face crosscheck with no time left, that goes a bit differently and Pietrangelo has a broken jaw or some shit. You know how bad that’d look? This is (part of) why the game has no mass appeal, because acts of violence are ignored.

Not in neck or face and it wasn’t after the horn blew… next…

Edit: and he let up and barely made any contact.
It's directly in the neck. If you can't see that you need to get your eyes checked.

The Kane crosscheck looks vicious but the angle from behind shows he barely touched him. It's a 2 min penalty and that's it. The DOPS is a joke and action/inaction from them shouldn't be indicative of how serious an incident is, but this won't even be a fine.

Like, these type of plays should 100% easily be a suspension in any real league that took themselves seriously.

Yearly reminder this was only a 1 game suspension

Edmonton player rubbed his neck like he got bit by a mosquito and moved on. Come on now not even remotely similar…

A players reaction to a crosscheck isn't indicative of how dirty or clean the play is. Lots of players embellish.

I'm not saying Pietrangelo does on that play but he definitely flings his head back. Bouchard could have done the same.

Hey, if the refs across the board are going to allow all sorts of s-it to happen this playoffs, it’s hard to blame anyone for just going for it.

This really was the Diet Coke of offenses in comparison. You don’t have to look that far to find wtf examples. Refs have been absolute dog s-it in general.

Would it make you feel better if Edmonton fans felt it wasn’t even that bad?
I understand why some fans don't like Kane but it's always great seeing him have this kind of effect on another team's fans. Your team just torched the oilers but you're still whining about Kane after the game. It confirms he's a great pest.

Lead with the stick forward and hits the jaw, no attempt to throw a hit. Clear intent to injure at the end of a period. Tactics like this not being majors just encourages losers like Kane to play dirty

crazy that something like this was only 1 game. I'm 100% serious when I say things like that need to get you thrown out for a minimum the remainder of the season.

If the NHL wants to stop people doing anything like this it needs to be a severe punishment, and anything less than remainder of the season is not severe enough
