Serbia are playing with fire here but Hungary turned it around in minutes. Montenegro have to go all out attack now. Serbia might finally qualify for Euro but they won’t do nothing there

Some day the Serbian NT will look as good on the pitch as they do on paper...some day...

...maybe...

Ooo Montenegro just missed a one on one, 10 minutes + stoppage time to go

Edit: Serbia equalize just as Montenegro created 2-3 decent chances. Probably done now

Serbia qualify for their first Euros since 2000, Hungary win the group. Everybody else in that group is eliminated, Bulgaria went winless

Happy for Samardzic. He's good enough to have played for our senior NT, but he would've had a tough time becoming a starter over Musiala / Wirtz / Havertz / Brandt at the 10 or Gundogan / Kimmich / Goretzka / Nmecha at the 8.

Glad that making the smart decision for his career seems to be working out for him...as Serbia does have some interesting talent coming up around their vets, (off the top of my head): Samardzic, Ilic, Pavlovic, Vlahovic, and Ratkov, all have the quality to be long time starters on a NT that consistently qualifies for tourneys with realistic hopes of the knockouts.

Shame they carry on that Yugoslav tradition of the whole always being less than the sum of its parts.

If Szoboszlai can take Hungary to the Euros, what is Odegaard’s excuse :)

Not commenting on Norway since I haven't paid any attention to their NT, but Hungary managed to qualify before Szobo cracked their senior team. He's their first high end attacker in ages, but they've defended extremely well for close to a decade now and produced a lot of solid players to park that bus for them.

Not this campaign

Three players (including Coufal) have had to leave the Czech team leading up to their key match against Moldova after having been caught out partying last night. A bit of a blow because all three started against Poland, but the management didn't really feel like there was any other option.

Those were some half a dozen heroic saves by the Hungary keeper Denes Dibusz, several one handed reflex saves.

Rom Lukaku reaches EIGHTY-ONE international goals, just crazy. And he's playing against 10 men Azerbaijan so it can go even better. Doku isn't just an amazing dribbler, he's a great passer/crosser too.

Lukaku scored 4 in the first half, but was taken off at half-time. So his total tally for the campaign remains at 13, equalling the record set by Lewandowski.

Edit: apparently he has 14, so a new record.

I was. And Norway also has Haaland; but Haaland would rather sit out and play for City I guess

Right. That's why I was letting you know that that team was able to qualify before Szobo, despite not having any EPLers. Which is a little different than a Norway side that can't qualify even with multiple EPLers.

Ans Szoboszlai has raised the ceiling on that team, especially since he was made captain

You already know I'm a big fan of his, just compared him to a 17yo Bellingham on another thread, but I had to answer to that cheap shot to Spain.
Is that a cheap shot though?
Except for Yamal and Gavi, all the teenagers Spain called up were ridiculous and bombed.

Norway has zero excuse.
Their team is very very decent. Besides their two stars, they have numerous quality players.
Haaland and Odegaard get a free pass for their NT work, but they really shouldn't and it should hurt their status in the Ballon d'Or race.

It is a very young team, they lack experience. Norway have one of the youngest national teams.
Both Haaland and Ødegaard have not reached the prime age for a footballer.
Today for instance in the starting lineup: Oscar Bobb (Man City) just 20 years old. He played well today against Scotland.

Some reports that Switzerland will sack their manager regardless of the result against Romania. Xhaka somewhat publicly criticized him after the Kosovo game

Pedri was awesome the summer they should've won the euros. And was Olmo called up while still a teenager? When fit he's very legit.

Abde? Munir?

Not that I disagree with the notion that big NTs should be very careful about cap-tying young dual-nationals. That's 2 out of the 5 teens that have recently cracked their senior team that failed, while the other 3 have looked really good...one of them already almost helping them win a trophy...

Abde? Munir?
You forgot Pedri.

Abde never played for the Spanish national team, while Munir at 19 probably peaked (10 goals in 16 games for the U21, wouldn't you have tried him for the big team with those numbers?), looked like he'd amount for something but he didn't and he's not even a regular for Morocco right now.

If anything Spain is SLOW at integrating new players, they still get Jesus Navas on the right instead of Pedro Porro and Grimaldo just debuted at 28 on the left.

Why did Kvaratshkhelia kept on gesturing and mouthing at the ref when he was already on a yellow card from previous matches. He eventually got the yellow with about 10 mins left and match out of reach when they were losing 3-1.

And why did Sagnol kept him on the pitch? Kvara will now miss their play-off match in March.
