My standard, elitist, jerky rant:
Most people are f*cking stupid.
That doesn't mean they're bad people.
Stupidity to me means willful ignorance. It means thoughtless, clueless, comically self-centered behavior. It means Karen.
As noted previously, everyone should be required to work retail, "hospitality," or food industry for at least three months.
Perhaps then they might appreciate politeness, empathy, kindness, and gratitude.
You know, the best of what human beings can be.
Misanthrope that I am, nonetheless I see it every day.
I hate the use of "Karen". No offense to you as many use it. My best friend growing up was Karen.
When I was 15, I got a job at a nursing home. We went to work at 5 am on the weekend days and holidays. We set up the dining room for the older folks living there and trays for the ones who could not get to the dining room. We served them breakfast and lunch. Every Sat morning you would ask who was no longer there, so you didn't set up for them.
I learned so much about life from those people and have loved older people since (I AM one now). They loved talking to us. They thought we were mischievous and fun. We would sneak them extra ice cream.
Some people have no empathy for anyone who they have no use for.
