Erie Otters 2023-24 Off-Season Thread (Part One)

  • Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. Who is Sergei Litvinov, and from where did we get him?

Why is he playing and Gibbons is acting as back up?

Did Flint allow us to use Fraser only for one game, or did Dave Brown conclude that Fraser failed to live up to Erie's well known standards for goal tenders? :(

EBUGs can only play one game if loaned from another team. Up to 10 if Erie has them signed like they do with Burns. Once his Jr B season is done he can stay here.

Ben Gaudreau has been hurt (foot injury)

Left us with Gibbons and Burns. Gibbons had a stint with the flu bug over the past couple weeks and Burns is only allowed so many games with the team.

Thus, until Ben Gaudreau gets healthy we are likely to continue to see these emergency backup goalies nearly every game.
 
Molnar back to back games where he couldn’t convert.

The effort was there today, but not enough to get desperately needed points.
 
All the emergency goalies were removed off the roster on the app. Wonder why.

What is the reason that Fraser and Litvinov played, and Gibbons was the back up? Should it not have been the reverse, if Fraser and Litvinov were one time only emergency back up goalies?

Does Erie not have anyone in the system who could have been called up from Jr. B?

Was he actually sick or is the staff not confident in him? Honest question, he was rumored to be sick weeks ago when all this started. He also has practiced with the team the whole time.

One last question from an Owen Sound fan coming down in March...we have someone coming who likes to wave an Attack flag.....allowed??

I don't see why not, but you could call the Otters den and talk to Darcie or Chad just to make sure.
