Our PK could’ve been better which one could argue, however, the refs wanted nothing to do with Erie. It was an obvious trip.Spence got nailed in OT and no call and then I believe it was Cohen who got tripped at the high slot and they scored the winner. The officiating in OT was horrendous.

Lalonde needed that game and the refs blew it. The inconsistency needs to be reviewed.
I wish RJ King didn’t ref here. I know other refs are from other OHL cities so it’s not uncommon, but we need a fresh face. He’s always here since he’s a cheap assignment. He lives minutes from the rink being from Erie.
While I’m still on my rant, can we get some better reporting from Schieg? I’m sorry, I don’t care about Colby Barlow and I don’t care he’s the captain. Can we get some interviews in regards to the change in direction from Erie and changed player mentality?
His two buddies were both fired so now he has no reason to give us decent reporting. It’s a shame.I quit following him after it became apparent he just fluffs everything and is seldom objective in his assessments.
Great question. I just watched the video to see if there was an error with the goal times on the scoresheet, but there isn’t. And the video clearly shows Erie was short handed on both goals. I’m stumped.Correct me if I’m wrong, but OS scored twice on the same PP. Minors called at 8:29 in the first, Kulakov got 2 for roughing and Stewart got 2 for removing his helmet. Both off set for 2 mins.
Then Johnson takes a penalty at 8:55 so now it’s 5-4. Penalty would expire at 10:55.
OS scored at 9:26 and again at 10:49 both PP goals.
How is that possible?
No, and the Erie captains went to the refs to ask for a review. The refs just pointed to the dressing room doors and told them to get off the ice. OS already was celebrating on the ice and their coaches were off the bench headed to the locker room.Insult to injury, but on that OT winner it was offside too. At the top the OS F still had 1 foot on the ice as OS entered the zone.
Was it not reviewed?
I didn’t notice anyone else in the box except Kulakov and Johnson. They didn’t announce the two served by x player. I need to rewatch the game to see what happened.Great question. EDIT: Kulakov must have got four for roughing even though the sheet has him getting just two. He (or whoever might have served his extra two) came out after the goal at 9:26, so that must have been an OS power play even though the gamesheet doesn’t suggest it.
Interesting. I’d be curious to know the answer if you do rewatch that part.I didn’t notice anyone else in the box except Kulakov and Johnson. They didn’t announce the two served by x player. I need to rewatch the game to see what happened.

The 2 PP goals on the same power play was a mistake between the refs and the officials in the box. It was mentioned on the TV broadcast in the second period. It's a pretty brutal mistake to make.Correct me if I’m wrong, but OS scored twice on the same PP. What??? A goal was scored on Kulakov’s penalty and they didn’t let him out, then they scored again a man up? Unreal. The 2 PP goals on the same power play was a mistake between the refs and the officials in the box. It was mentioned on the TV broadcast in the second period. Overall, the game wasn't particularly well officiated. Have to give Erie their due for battling in the game. They had every excuse to pack it in down 4-0 but never quit.
Kulakov and Stewart went off for offsetting minors. Playing 4 on 4, Erie takes a penalty to go down 4 on 3. Owen Sound scores on the PP which should have returned the game to 4 on 4 pending the end of the original offsetting minors. Instead, they let Kulakov out of the box and kept the other Erie player in the box to remain on a penalty kill. Owen Sound then scores on a PP that they shouldn't have had. Truly bizarre mistake to make. What??? A goal was scored on Kulakov’s penalty and they didn’t let him out, then they scored again a man up? Unreal.
Ok yes, that’s what I should have said. Too early in the morning when I read the gamesheet today lol. Either way, brutal and embarrassing. Just wondering how Erie’s coaches missed that, or whether they caught it and the refs just ignored them.Kulakov and Stewart went off for offsetting minors. Lalonde may have needed that game but he can't spot any team in this league 4 goals and expect to come away with a win. Not all of them were completely his fault because defensive breakdowns have been the running theme of this team, but he needs to make enough saves to give them a chance. He hasn't done that all season. Our PK could’ve been better which one could argue, however, the refs wanted nothing to do with Erie. It was an obvious trip.

I was at the game and this is exactly what happened. The penalty box official got it right by letting Johnston out first and the ref sent him back in and told Kulakov to come out. I can't believe the coaches didn't even try to dispute it or the scorekeepers speaking up. The officiating in this game was all around poorly done in this game.Kulakov and Stewart went off for offsetting minors. Playing 4 on 4, Erie takes a penalty to go down 4 on 3. None of the other officials or the Otters coaches noticed. Pretty damning to all involved. Ridiculous.I was at the game and this is exactly what happened.
