This game is terrible except I can’t even turn the game off. We made the trip here to do a home and home.

Highest bidder gets a game used Niagara puck to reimburse my ticket expenses today. Lol

Well… no buyer on the puck.

They managed to squeeze out the win. While this is a boost in their confidence, I think it only allows our staff to keep their jobs.

Ride with the win tonight, but tomorrow will be fiesty.

The team didn’t take a bus to Niagara so everyone drove separately. I’m tired and I didn’t play. I’d expect them to be exhausted especially the drivers taking teammates back to Erie. With the border, their ETA to Erie is close to 2AM, but I’m sure they have to drop off teammates to other billet houses.

Made the trip down to Niagara tonight, first time I’ve seen the team since Kitchener drilled them end of November.

How long has Spence been playing this much? I wouldn’t be surprised if he played 30 minutes tonight.

Bressette stretchered off with 47 seconds left. Brutal bad hit on Niagara player, number 27.

Absolutely awful. Just drove past the back of the building and there are two ambulances at the garage.

A child behind me was in tears over his injury and wasn’t able to calm down.

Certainly hope he’s ok - I didn’t listen to or see the game ..but what a terrible way to end such a disastrous year so far

Niagara wouldn’t even take a knee until the crowd chanted for them to take a knee. Disgusting.

I won’t share a picture of the injury because it’s not my place to do so, but I will share the classless act from Niagara.

Did you have a good view? Between the camera angle and how fast it happened I could only make out a violent collusion

So I forget who made the pass on our team towards him but it was the old NHL "Death Pass".
Perfectly placed in front of Bressette and the Niagara player totally lined him up for a big hit. Extremely classless and yes I would 100% say if it it was reversed. The type of hit high that ends careers.

I also believe I heard Alfano was thrown out as a result of the aftermath of the hit along with Cohen and Lavoie respectively as Cohen went straight at Lavoie.

Also, hats off to Koop (our trainer). He was on the ice and at Bressette's side before he even hit the ground. Fast action and he was basically in the middle of the scrums tending to our player. Absolutely outstanding young man.

‘suicide pass’.
I took one, knocked out cold. At that time, it was a lesson to keep my head up. A lesson for my teammate too; benched for rest of game, next game, and practice hitting dummy the next week.

Seems par for the course in Niagara this season. Lets all hope its better than it looks.

Final Thoughts for 2022...

What started off as promising has become a complete dumpster fire.

Molnar looks promising once he gets going but Daviault looks like a huge miss, again. Yes, we got draft picks but the player exchange seems to be awful yet again. Alfano isn't awful and is a much needed big body in front of the net but Lockhart is outpacing him and by a ton. It looks like a bad trade, again. Gilmartin, outside of his suspension, hasn't really been electric either. He's consistent and a vet, but nothing to write home about.

Downey played well, Lalonde is lost. Gibbons has done well in his first season and maybe some extra time with Mississauga helps his growth to give us options in net.

Bressette until tonight (fingers crossed for good news) was one of our finer points on offense with Terrance stepping up and Spence is increasing in confidence every week. I am mildly disappointed in Cohen and Sedore as OA players with lack of production.

Our PP is completely lost, especially after losing Kyrou to trade. Our PK isn't awful by any stretch, but we seriously need to take less penalties.

Perhaps there is another trade before the deadline (Cohen?). However, there isn't much left to salvage so the enjoyment for myself will come in the player growth. Jim Waters needs to clean house from DB down and POSSIBLY look into their scouts as well. It is pretty obvious there is a huge issue with getting the players here AND developing them into a cohesive winning program.

I just watched the game. What a piece of work that Niagara players is, holding his hand to his ear on the way off the ice. Hope they throw the entire book at that assclown. You just don’t do that especially when someone’s hurt.

The only news I've seen from the Otters about a players health in recent times...

Bressette underwent successful surgery this morning and is resting comfortably.

Ever since Victor Fernandes left, everything has been hush hush in regards to injuries.

Glad he’s doing well and that he was able to rest last night. Hoping someone on the team or billets was able to stay with him. Wishing for a speedy recovery.

Surgery? That’s concerning considering that hit. Hopefully it was nothing major.

He’s likely out the rest of the season. There’s 12 weeks left and given how long recovery takes and rehab, he won’t be back on the ice. He’s had a good year and it’ll be hard to have him scratched.

He was semi conscious leaving the ice giving only a thumbs up.

If I’m remembering correctly, Kulakov hit his guy who was already down on the ice and was out for 8 games. That player was back in the line up a game or two later. Again correct me if I’m wrong.

Gilmartin served 10 games for the official believing Gilmartin was going to hit him.

That leaves the question, how many games does Lavoie receive? According to Niagara fans, he’s been suspended before.

Bressette was stretchered off, had surgery for a broken collarbone and is out for the rest of the year. There was 50 seconds left of the game and Niagara was up 2 goals. The hit was unnecessary and the taunting was the terrible part. He was proud of what he did and went to the locker room all smiles and congratulated by scratched teammates.

Kulakov was probably for continually hitting the kid after he was disoriented and on the ground. It was also not his first suspension, but I thought it was a bit much.

Gilmartin had, according to game notes from 11/30, three 10 minute misconducts in a single game including a 5 minute major for fighting. I assume it was his conduct throughout the entire game that led to 10 games, not just his antics while leaving the ice.

I'm not sure what Lavoie will get but I know the NHL is pretty unrelenting and wants to eliminate this exact same kind of hit so there is a chance he could receive double digits, but I'm not sure of his track record which likely plays a part as well as his remorse, attitude during the game, and the infraction itself.
