This is just the thing that I love to hear, when a clearly biased poster somehow knows my views better than I do?

The term WTF seems pretty reasonable here but then again maybe you think all posters are as biased as you are?

Also what history is Hutson going to rewrite this year?

Do you expect him to eclipse 76 points?

Today, Mack wins in a close race.


Imo, if Habs maintain their pace of the past 6 weeks, and Hutson keeps getting better (as he has every month this far), they will make the playoffs and he'll win by a comfortable margin.

But there's a lot of hockey left and things could change for all 3 front runners.

so you can't point out anything biased? Its pretty clear that the thought of Hutson winning the Calder bothers you. Downplaying his "fine" season, purposefully ignoring the potential to beat the all time record for assists by a rookie dman, appealing to the PWHA as if their votes really mean anything.

Instead of pointing out how clearly biased I am you start to lean into the personal insults.

Why would it bother me, like I said i have no dog in the race and even though I think Celebrini is the better rookie so far, I really have no problem if hutson wins it becasue of an injury to celebrini or he steps up even more and ceelbrini declines in play.

Once again you are trying to state things for me, which kind of of shows your bias again.

I think that I would have a much better idea on my feelings on this thread than you do.

Sure why would the actual voters feeling right now on the award they will be voting for later this year mean anything?


So what if he breaks 60 assists, his overall play right now is what is being judged as for celebrini as well.

But who knows maybe some voters will be impressed by that.

Also if you want to look back Murphy didn't win the Calder that year when he had 60 assists and he had 16 goals too.

What if he scores 10 goals the rest of the way and only gets 20 more assists does that matter or is the actual overall play and impact the thing that should be judged here?

You started the bias game here and didn't bother to read my comments and then pretended to speak for me on 2 occasions now so I wouldn't go down that road.

He is still young but frankly if someone had said that Columbus would be in playoff contention halfway through the year one would think that fantilli's emergence might have been a reason why.

Okay they're a whole bunch of idiots or they must be from west coast and don't watch hutson play then. Lets see their votes after the next 42 games. The one that actually matters.

I appreciate you sharing. And quite frankly I am shocked by this. I have watched a handful of Celebrini's games and agree....he is lights out and a future superstar. Hutson by all measures has also shown he is a future superstar. I scoffed at AINEC @Zegs2sendhelp but clearly his opinion is based bolstered by this apparent polling of PWHA.

With that being said....last night was a huge game for Hutson and had to have swayed some voters.

Well now that you mention it yes I think that a rookie 18 year old center who is playing a great 200 foot game and is close to 505 on the dot and leads all rookies with .93 PPG compared to Hutson at .75 and Michkov at .76.

Celebrini is also playing with less impressive team mates on the ice 5 on 5.

So no I'm not surprised that close to 90% of the voters have him first on their ballots currently.

I havnt read that….

My opinion is based of celebrin being that damn good…. I’d take celebrini over bedard.

Celebrini is best young player in the nhl, not just rookie

The thing is that historically Calder voters have really favoured forwards to Dmen and that's apart of it.

That's why I brought up the examples of Lidstrom and Faber last year not winning, Hutson isn't having a better rookie season than either of those guys and my bet is that if Celebrini was doing this last season ahead of Bedard he very well may be beating out Bedard as well but that's a hypothetical.

I dunno does one game against the Canucks whose defense has blown leads a lot lately change that much?

I had to go out and was in and out on the broadcast but the goal was fluky and Guhle seemed more impressive but like I said I didn't watch the end of the game as I was out.

All that being said a single game doesn't drive the needle that much.

Doesnt Hutson have better defensive numbers? Albeit very similar. Also, .75 ppg as a rookie defensemen is more impressive than .93 as a rookie center. Whos the next best rookie defensemen? So damn far behind.

Incorrect although they don't state numbers but they were pretty accurate last year.

We've polled a wide selection of Professional Hockey Writers Association voters anonymously to get a sense of where the wind is blowing for the current leaders. We've made sure it's a cross-section from the entire league, trying to gain as many perspectives as possible.

Sure but then again how many of the voters look at which analytic numbers?

Sure on the surface a regular forward at a .93 PPG compared to dman at .75 means something but most rookie forwards, in fact I'm trying to remember the last one that is recent maybe Toews/Kopitar, don't have that 200 foot game either.

I also think that some voters are going to look at Celebrini having 20 ESP points compared to Hutson's 17 as an advantage for Celebrini.
