Yeah, they both played well in all honesty, I just think this thread is funny because of the reactions from the smallest instances like HUTSON LOST AN EDGE OMG BUST BUST
I mean wolf wasn't tested a whole lot, the flames outplayed the sharks pretty handily. celebrini on the other hand pretty much carried the sharks offense.

Philly has iced Michkov for 11.27 and 9.01 the last two games. Is he not getting ice time because he's slumping or slumping because he's not getting ice time? He's also shooting considerably less than Celebrini. Celebrini is benefiting from playing in a worse team and a less traditional hockey culture, getting more freedom than Michkov. He's making use of the trust he's getting very well, too.

If Calgary gives Wolf some rope and he can play more than 50 games his Calder stick is going to go up quite a bit.

Celebrini is the much better 2 way player and deserving of his ice time, when Michkov isn't scoring he doesn't bring as much to the table.

Hutson is going to pass him soon in the Calder race if he hasn't already.

Celebrini is being treated like a true future of the franchise talent. Hes being allowed to just go out and play and use his talent.

Michkov has to endure mind games and irrational punishments because the Flyers dont value superstars. No one is bigger than the team and if you dare gain praise before youve paid your dues you need to knocked down a few pegs. That is their philosophy.

If Celebrini was on the Flyers, he would not be having the same success as he is in san jose. Hed be a 3rd or 4th line center (on a team with no centers) and a frequant scratch like Michkov.

I dont think people outside of philly realize how disfunctional an organization it is.

He is a one dimensional 20 year old rookie who seems to be a liability if he isn't scoring. This is a better argument if you are comparing Michkov to Smith.

Celebrini has his moments, like all rookies, but has done basically nothing to warrant even a small reduction in ice time let alone a scratch or heavily reduced minutes and routinely makes plays in the neutral zone and defensive zone to help the team

There’s a reason why franchises are almost always built around centers and not wingers. Celebrini creates havoc all around the ice and drives his line. He’s PPG with low scoring line mates. He had Barclay Goodrow, Fabian Zetterlund, Klim Kostin, Tyler Toffoli, Will Smith as line mates throughout the year. Zetterlund is a good middle 9 guy, Toffoli is a bottom 2RW, Goodrow is an awful 4th liner, Kostin is a Bottom 6 winger and Smith is a 19 year old inconsistent but talented player who is on pace for about 30-35 points.

Not to mention outside of Jake Walman the Sharks have little offensive help from their D.

Give Celebrini an actual first liner and his ppg will increase to 1.2-1.3 ppg.

Give Celebrini a d pair that can break out a puck and he'd be over ppg. So many wasted shifts stuck in the d zone because the D can't get the puck up ice to save their lives.

Youre missing the point. Im not criticizing Celebrini. Hes been great. I am saying hed be benched inspite of his success bc thats what the Flyers do.

Emil Andrae turned the Flyers season around by solidifying their defense...and when he started gettimg credit for it Torts scractched him and sent him down. There was zero change in his play. They just think too much success too soon is bad for character.

The entire team has fallen apart since and thats hurt Michkovs production. Rather than looking themselves in the mirror, they blame him with the baseless narratives like hes lazy or a liability. Dont fall for the propaganda.

I know people will laugh and don't want to hear it (this is HF), but if Celebrini and Hutson are neck and neck at the end of the season in points, Hutson takes it. Neck and neck in points with him being a D is huge. Don't care about the +/- and neither will the voters at that point. Laugh all you want, but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that one out (but again, this is HF).

I don’t think it’s as cut and dry as that. I think voters will also take Celebrini’s age into account, along with missed games, and the complete 200 foot game he plays. Not saying it would be a lock but It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know voters will also have those things to consider

This is the same situation as last season 18 year old center vs 20/21 year old defensemen.

I don’t think that’s the case. Celebrini will likely have played 7-10 games fewer due to his injury. So neck and neck in points would almost certainly bring the award to Celebrini.

This is not a valid argument to determine which of the players are better on the ice in the actual games played, just your opinion (excuse).

Celebrini is just the best player of the two. Thats it. Michkov is a good young player who will be the franchise star forward in Philly, hes certainly not better than Celebrini who plays with infinitely worse talent on the Sharks. There are no guys like Konecny, Sanheim, or York over there helping him.
