The truth is that Habs fans are lighting up these threads because a TON of posters on here have barely watched the kid play but have all kinds of opinions about his potential.

Just curious, do you think more non-affiliated posters have seen more of Hutson or Celebrini?

Celebrini had a great first half (all I could watch) - absolute bedardian snipe on the first shot of the game, line was dominant in OZ possession, tons of chance creation, secondary PP, and could have gotten an assist for the forecheck forced turnover leading to Walman's goal. Ended up +/- 0 so the absolute meltdown that I missed was only partially unkind to him.

As I have been saying and some reasonable posters have been saying - excellent rookie class, exciting race, anything can happen.

The teams went strong against Hutson in the last 3 game. The game plan is to dominate Hutson physically. He started bending to avoid crosschecks, TBL cross checking the air trying to move him infront of Montembeault. GG.

Nah, he obviously has proper skills, I don't doubt it. I doubt he does have defensive skills, though, to call him a defender. He isn't a defender and isn't a goalscorer so goalscorers should be ahead of him.

Sharks fans know this is a weak argument, especially since we championed Karlsson to win the norris with 101 pts and questionable defensive responsibility.

If Hutson is driving the PP and PP is winning them games, then that's useful. AND if it's so impactful, like Karlsson's offense was, then he should be celebrated for that facet of his game, not derided for what he doesnt have.

Most assists as a rookie dman, all time. Its possible and he is pacing to do it. That a pretty rare milestone, no?

The argument would be that Celebrini is 76th in points for all forwards so far this season (86th overall) and Hutson is the 6th highest in points for all D (60th overall). You might notice that D usually have less points than forwards. The rookie D is also ahead of the rookie forward in points. What kind of rookie forward gets less points than a D? What Kind of forward is he?

Then when you add in that Celebrini is -17 and 26th (third last) on his team and Huston is -10 and 25th (third last) on his team you would conclude based on the Kshahdoo theory that they both obviously suck at defense because watching hockey games is hard. This doesn't even count that Hutson is near the NHL lead in empty net goalies against. His goalie needs to learn how to save pucks from the bench. Context, and all /s

Dude, stop stat watching. And if you're going to stat watch, do it better. The reason he has one of the worst +/- on the team is because the NHL includes empty net situations as evenstrenght play.

If you go look at 5v5 play, Hutson is 2nd on the team for GF%. He's 2.86 GA/60. Better than Guhle, Matheson and Struble.

Hutson is -9 in empty net situations. His actual +/- at 5v5 is -1.

You should just go hide away in shame at this point. Exposing yourself as someone who absolutely doesn't know what he's talking about.
