ANA trades cam Fowler
OTT trades Macarthur 1st round pick curtis lazar
NYR trades mats zuccarello and 2nd round pick
Win trades jake trouba

ANA gets Ott 1st rd pick and curtis lazar
WIN gets Fowler NYR 2nd Rd pick
OTT gets mats zuccarello
NYR gets Trouba and Macarthur (LTIR never play again)

Not that this is that much more realistic, but I think a similar trade can be done by cutting out Ottawa.

ANA trades Cam Fowler
NYR trades JT Miller, Dylan McIlrath, 2nd round pick
WIN trades Jake Trouba

ANA gets JT Miller
NYR gets Trouba
WIN gets Fowler, McIlrath, 2nd round pick

Vast majority of Jets fans have said emphatically no to Fowler offers, zero interest in him. Throwing in marginal plus on to him doesn't make him anymore attractive as a return. Any trade involving Fowler as a return would need a high end D prospect added (Dylan is not that).

If Fowler was the only LHD available much sooner see Chevy say screw it then and go for the bpa (forward). Josh M is looking very good in camp, looks like a good chance he steals that top 4 spot anyways. This gives Chevy much more options via trade then, don't have to be forced to make a bad trade (Fowler).

Wanna know why? Because he's not used as an offensive defenseman. He's used as a shutdown player while having a skill set that is best used as an offensive defenseman.

I know what he's used as. If you read my post I acknowledged that he plays tough minutes.

However, it doesn't change the fact that he doesn't put up the offensive numbers you would expect from someone of his skill set.

after careful deliberation i have come to the conclusion it is going to be tough to please everyone so Ill give it a shot. I've thought this out and can't wait to hear feedback.

ANA trades cam Fowler
OTT trades Macarthur 1st round pick curtis lazar
NYR trades mats zuccarello and 2nd round pick
Win trades jake trouba

ANA gets Ott 1st rd pick and curtis lazar
WIN gets Fowler NYR 2nd Rd pick
OTT gets mats zuccarello
NYR gets Trouba and Macarthur (LTIR never play again)

why you ask???

for Ott. with mac going down it leaves a huge hole on their second line left wing.. Zuc and brass are best friends, play extremely well together and made Nash a 40 goal scorer a mere year ago. No reason to think the both of them can't have the same results with Ryan. Zuc is signed for 3 more years at a 4.5 million cap hit so the salary also works out well for the situation in OTT.

For WIN. chevy said he wants a LD who has similar value to trouba to deal him. Fowler is a solid d-man who is only 24 years old. stabilizes that ugly LD on the jets and gives them a solid top 4. a lot cheaper then trouba. 2nd rounder sweetens the pot.

ANA ducks have theodore who is ready to make the jump who can replace fowler tomorrow. they also just drafted larsson who looks solid in his own right. Ducks are a budget team so this moved salary from fowler frees them up a little bit when negotiating with lindholm and rakell. Lazar gives them a good third liner, former 17th overall pick with solid upside who is cost controlled and a 1st rounder probably 12-22 range.

NYR has a glut of young and up and coming forwards and not enough spots to play them all. it is going to suck big time to lose zuc but they get back (hopefully) their #1 RD for the next 7-8 years.
Makes a top four of McD-Trouba Staal/skjei/klein pretty solid. also they are about 2.5 million under cap as it is. add that with zucs 4.5 and that gives them enough space to come to a long term deal with trouba for around 5.5-6.5 mill per a la dougie hamilton situation. macarthur's contract is insured I believe so the team is only on the hook for half the cash. NYR doesn't care about money, we have our own printing press. It is not counted against cap.

I think NYR would need to talk extension with trouba's agent first to know what each other is working with. and at some point girardi has to be gone before EXP draft.

flame off everybody

ill just comment value and pretend logistics are possible

ottawa needs to give more... anaheim needs to get more.

it can be argued lazar is the cost to dump the contract... it can also be argued ottawa might sneak into playoffs. id say they need to give up at least one extra second... or keep the contract dump

as for anaheim they could use zuccarello more than a pick and kid

i suggest ottawa eat half of zucchello contract. keep lazar, keep their first

so ottawa gets trouba for their second and a player to be named
then ottawa flips trouba and mcarthur to ny for zucharello

ottawa eats half the zucharello contract and sends him to anaheim for fowler and anaheim first

ottawa finishes the 4 way by sending fowler to winnipeg

when the dust settles

winnipeg gets their affordable left shot dman and a second for a guy that has demanded out... probably make out the best here

ny gets trouba and an ltir contract which is expensive on the cap for sure

anaheim gets an affordable second line scoring help at the expense of fowler and a first... steep price but could be a cup winning move

ottawa upgrades their draft from a second to a first while getting rid of macauthors ltir... it costs them eating half of zucherellos contract and caphit

He did. Read the entire post instead of the parts you want to see.

I'm going by the numbers I've seen in this thread from Anaheim fans. Not my own. I don't statwatch Cam Fowler's career.

No he didn't. He just said that he wouldn't take Lazar and a 1st if he was the Ducks GM.
